History

Established in 2008.

Gossip Box started due to having worked in ‘corporate land’ for many years & my role consisted of handing out gifts to our clients around Christmas.

Always ‘disappointed’ with either corporate badged gifts (mugs, umbrellas etc) or the last minute gift hamper which had more padding then product … it was time to ‘shake up things’ in the gift hamper industry.

Once the commitment of starting a family was decided, it was time to get Gossip Box off the ground.

I pride myself of being a working mum by starting a business I can not only ‘work around’ my children’s schedules but at the same time have chosen to support our local businesses by using ONLY SA producers within our gift boxes.

Having started full time work at just 15 due to school simply being ‘not for me’ I landed in the general insurance industry. Enjoying my role and gradually moving up the corporate ladder, the time came when I had to ‘go back to school’ and obtain my insurance qualifications.

Once this was fulfilled, my role on the road was an enjoyable one as I had awesome brokers & agents to look after. Everything was going along nicely til the dreaded ‘take over’ where the big companies simply ‘swallow up’ the smaller guys.

Moving around the insurance game & doing various roles due to more ‘takeovers’ and mergers it was time for me to break free and think about what I wanted to do long term. Having ‘justified’ the insurance industry’s existence for 15 or so years, I was looking at doing something not so ‘serious’.

As I didn’t want to ‘start all over’ then after a few years decide we want a family, we put the family option first … and in my ‘free time’ started up Gossip Box.
