An unassuming little place in the Pasadena shopping complex, Yumalicious delivers on flavour and value. I’ve only taken away from here but always waited inside the store for my food. The décor is nothing special — yellow plastic chairs and white ‘food court’ style tables, but it’s very clean and from what you can see of the kitchen it looks very clean too. The eat in meals I saw coming out looked really nice, and I would like to try eating in sometime. Staff are friendly but not overbearing. I highly recommend you call ahead and order if you can. There is usually only one or two guys in the kitchen and last time I was there I waited over half an hour for a spring onion pancake and some steamed buns. That being said, the food is good and value for money. There is a wide range of dishes available, with plenty of both meat and vegetarian options. The steamed pork buns are delicious, with lots of ‘juice’ inside. The fried dumplings are perfectly crunchy. Their spring onion pancake was also perfectly fried with not too much oil. The best value thing here is their frozen takeaway dumplings — at $ 7.50 for 15 they are some of the cheapest I’ve seen in Adelaide. They are a great option for caling in to grab dinner on the way home.

Ordered two mains with one a chicken only Pad Thai, a fried rice and a cold roll. We watched and waited as three other walk ins ordered and was served, two tables ordered and served, and a woman who sent back 2 dishes and got her substitutes. 50 Minutes later we received our meal and was told that they did not have a normal coke for spending over $ 40 and was given a Coke Zero instead. Got home and the Pad Thai had pork AND seafood in it and each of the dishes was cold. It looks like their dumplings are ok as everyone was ordering them, but for the first visit to this shop, it has left a lot to be desired.

Great little Chinese restaurant that makes the best hot and sour dumpling soup. Always fresh easy to order. Just like being back in Beijing

This is a fantastic take away or eat-in Chinese joint. Variety of noodles and rice dish for one to sample. My favourite is the Stir Fried Beef Noodles, the noodles is cooked in a thick semi sweet black sauce, and with the garlic flavours bursting through each mouthful, I could go back for seconds. The Special Fried Rice, also known as normal Fried Rice, was ‘so so’. They didn’t have enough colour or probably peanut oil to it, and adding bean sprouts to fried rice, just don’t do it for me. Pricing is fantastic. Most main dish meals are under $ 10. The portions are large, so order two dishes if you have a family of three. A word of warning though, the girls at the counter don’t speak good English. So you’re best off pointing to the Dish numbers on the menu or large board. If you’re brave enough, I dare you to try the soaked dried chilly seeds and dried prawns immersed in vinegar and oil. Utterly good with fried rice or just on its own! Remember to strap yourself at the loo seat though if you can’t stomach this!
