The Cove

Real hit and miss kinda place, meals and drinks on the expensive side, service can really be an issue here with slow service missing meals and drinks. When they get the service right is acceptable. Most meals are quite nice however the salads are really small meals and not really salad as such.

A little expensive but mostly worth it. Lovely environment, whatever the season. We shared the tapas. Ordering one of everything between the four of us. Chorizo sausage rolls, fresh tacos… Lovely. The serving staff were above average. Friendly, not generic friendly, they were warm and welcoming, adaptive to our needs. The Persian mess for dessert was amazing. Contrasts of taste and texture. The only thing I didn’t enjoy was the lady who I assume was head of staff… I can do without being eyeballed like we were going to steal the salt and pepper from the tables. I felt like I was 13 walking through a department store with a back pack on… Otherwise, take your family there. Worth the trip.

Pie, pie, pie. Did I mention the pie? Absolutely fantastic location, excellent service and the menu is great. Obviously I ordered the lamb pie, which is a slow cooked (8 hr) lamb shoulder encased in a flaky pastry. I would drive here for over an hour just for the pie. Everyone else ordered other things that looked and tasted excellent. I got to try the calamari which could have used a bit more pepper but was tender and plentiful. Worth a trip down the bay.
