I’ve been sampling all of Penrith’s Indian restaurants gradually, seeking The One. I use a 2 dish test to see what an Indian restaurant can do, my dishes for this test are Malai Kofta and Palak Paneer. Along with these I also sample the naan bread. Naan bread: A tragedy. Out of 3 pieces, all were uncooked in the middle, this became an advantage for reheating in the sandwich press. Malai Kofta: Excellent. The dumplings themselves were absolute perfection. The sauce suffered slightly from a snotty texture, misfortune at the hand of cornflour. The sauce flavor was good though. Palak Paneer: LOADS of cheese! And good cheese too. Texture of the curry wasn’t great and it could use more spice, but otherwise good. These guys could be a serious contender(may have been an off night) I think the phone system here is on its way out. Very crackly and flat, hard to hear and understand.

A little on the slow side to cook food. Not enough to garner complaints when eating in, but longer than I like to when getting take away. Bit on the pricy side too. On the plus side, the quality of the food is fantastic, and they actually have some spice/kick to their meals. This makes the extra money worth it if you’re having company.
