This Bobeche is one of my favourite small bars in Perth. It’s slinky, with wonderful Chesterfield leather sofas and chairs, dark, moody and feels like you’ve stepped back in time. The point of going here was at basement 131 St George’s Terrace, Perth, Western Australia was where my father and mother leased some offices to run their secretarial business in the early to mid 80’s. Both my brothers are here on a visit to see our mum and my sister and I live in Perth. We grew up, helping dad in the office and so where better to reminisce but at Bobeche and the Print Hall. The drinks list is great, quite pricey though and really not a lot of choices for bar food. We had the Octopus and blue cheese croquettes.

Cool late night speakeasy style underground(literally) bar. Wonderful smell of popcorn & snazzy bartenders with terrific beards working their craft. It’s a nice Late night spot with a chilled vibe. There’s tables, bar stools & cosy couches dotted around the place as well as the huge bar.

Fantastic atmosphere. Like stepping into Parisian Nightclub in the 1920’s. Crème Brûlée was beautiful. Service 5 stars.

Saturday night and the place was packed. We queued for about 10 minutes but the buzz inside was well worth the wait. Free popcorn with drinks, cool speakeasy style décor and an extensive cocktail list makes this a place I’ll be going back to. The only negative is that there isn’t a huge selection of beers but that is what Bob’s bar is for!

Very cool, classy but chill, underground speakeasy vibe with 1920s décor and music. Loved coming here for a happy hour glass of sparkling wine for me and beer for a cute boy, munching on popcorn and flirting in the corner leather couches; great place to start a date night!

Such a great addition to Perth’s small bar space. Styled like an underground speakeasy from the prohibition era and is dark with leather sofas. Bartenders wear aprons, which I love, and are very knowledgable. The highlight is the free popcorn… delicious!

I had been wanting to try out this place for ages so I was so excited when I stumbled in there at midnight with my best friend looking for a cocktail! It was a Great Gatsby themed night and everyone looked amazing and the whole atmosphere was fun and exciting. The bartenders were really nice and the cocktail list was interesting. The only issue is that the drinks were pretty expensive, but drinking from a teapot was kind of worth it. The also serve you free popcorn which I love! My only gripe of the night was that they were playing 1920s music to go with the theme but listening to it for hours was a bit much, I was hoping for a change in pace. All in all I had heaps of fun and it was an amazing night out. I’ll definitely go back.

Tucked away below the Perth Heritage building, you take a step back in time as soon as you walk through the door. The 1920s interior is just beautiful, it sets such a great atmosphere. With its top-notch service, it is a lovely little place to enjoy some drinks, 1920s style.

Unique taste and fun crowd that linger in the Bobèche 4 walls. Quirky drinks and fun music a great way to spend an evening. Bobèche unfortunately lacks in space and chairs there is no dance floor and is crowded at times. Bobèche from my experience aims at an older(not too old) crowd sometimes being involved with dress up parties the levels of fun are sky high. Small range of cocktails but all are delish. They offer popcorn and other snacks for only a few gold coins. Teapots and teacup cocktails with fun music and enjoyable evening getaway.

Come on babe, why don’t we paint the town, and all that jazz… Start the car, I know a whoopee spot… Where the gin is cold and served in orange teapots… It’s just a classy hall where there are corner leather couches to sprawl… And all thaaaaaaaat… jazzzzzzzz + tasty free popcorn! Parting Thought: Warm yourself up on a cold winter’s night with some delicious hot buttered rum!

Teapot cocktails in a speakeasy themed bar with complimentary popcorn? I’m sold. You feel classier just by stepping into this 1920’s themed bar hidden away in the CBD. Not surprisingly, it gets busy fairly quickly so make sure you drop in early. It’s great to see more places like this popping up around Perth!

Hidden under the Heritage, this underground speakeasy oozes mystery and mischief. With its dimmed lights, old school charm and jazzy tunes, I was transported back to the roaring 20’s and looking for a dapper Jay Gatsby. Loved: + the old style leather couches are great for a group + tiny nooks for couples + fancy cocktails which show off the bar staffs skills and creativity as well as mastering the classics. + teacup cocktails — very Alice in Wonderland + dedication to the era in the décor — plush red drapes, gold rustic fittings, in particular the ladies bathroom! The Prohibition theme is here to stay in Perth, and I’m going to kick up my heels and retire to more sultry underground playgrounds and enjoy the crème de la crème of good customer service and beautiful drinks.

I’ve only been here once but I look forward to going back. The atmosphere and vibe is really nice. It is decorated with leather chairs and dim lights it’s like going back in time. All the drinks are different and unique. The cocktails were amazing. They also have teapots there which are about $ 60 but they are for 4 people to share. It is definitely a place to try out!

I do not understand what the rave reviews are about to be honest. «You feel like you’re walking into a bar from Boardwalk Empire…» No, they didn’t use stainless steel for their bars or have exposed air conditioning ducts. It has red curtains, leather couches and is down a flight of stairs. It’s not special. The drinks were adequate but not noteworthy. I think Perth residents are just so taken back by something different than what they’re used to, but this is the type of bar where you can see what they were going for, realised it cost too much, then did the really cheap version instead.

Best looking bar in the city. Love the wall painting of Bobeche. The setting is classy & grundgy at the same time. Cocktails are awesome. Just not sure about the music — 1920s stuff today! What’s with the old-time music at fancy bars these days… Bar Lafayette always has 50s music — some pre rock n roll era!

I have been wanting a place like this to appear. Somewhere low key that lets you have quiet intimate conversations with friends or that special someone with food and drink. It was relief and love at first sight. I love the two discreet entrances on either side of Bobèche and upon stepping in you’re transported away from the Perth CBD. Customer service is fantastic. When the wine arrived, it wasn’t just placed on the table with the name announced. There was also a description of where it was from and this was the House Red which by the way was a delightful drop from Bordeaux. I did have to make a trip to the Ladies after the reviews of it. I’ll pay that the basin is extensive with gold coloured taps and fixtures. I did find the wire rack to be quite handy in holding belongings. At least the historical theme and touches didn’t extend to the business end of the facilities. Those were spotless, functioning, and hygienic if you know what I mean. Definitely returning.

Oh man, I thought I wrote a review for Bobèche a long time ago, but clearly hadn’t. Well where to start… Sometimes when I walk into a venue for the first time and it’s very visually pleasing, the Salt n Pepa lyrics«What a man, what a man, what a mighty fine man, yes he is!» will come into my head. This happening is a sign of a truly sexy new venue. I can say with certainty that Salt n Pepa came into my head on my first visit to Bobèche. Tucked away in the basement level of the heritage building, you don’t feel like you’re in Perth anymore Toto. When I say this place has a 1920s Speakeasy theme, I don’t mean one of the bartenders wears a newsboy cap and that’s as far as they’ve gone with the theme. The owners must have spent a large amount of time and money on making this place the real deal! The ladies bathroom is beautiful, especially the sink which apparently the owners had sent over from the US and re-enameled — that’s the dedication I’m talking about! The drinks menu is very unique and extensive, but don’t expect a lot of yor standard drinks on there. I love a bar that has something different for you to try, I had the vodka fizz cocktail and it was so delicious I slurped it back like a red creaming soda. Looking forward to going back and trying the food.

I know it’s strange to start a review of one of Perth’s swankiest cocktail dens with this, but I can’t help it: these are some of the most gorgeous bathrooms I’ve ever been in. Bathed in white tile, gold fixtures and what could only be an exceptionally discerning eye for historical accuracy, I would have had my tipple in there had it been offered! But don’t fret — the rest of the bar(and bartenders — hell-o) are gorgeous as well. From the menus to the«yes» coasters, I have no doubt that it would be far too easy to sink back into a hidden corner, enjoy the mid-afternoon tailored darkness, and sample the entire menu. Just watch your dollars — they go quite quickly here.

The secretive entrance, the low key ambience, attentive yet discreet staff… And a bourbon cocktail that actually tasted amazing! A new fave bar for us. Unless you have been living under a rock for the past twelve months(twelve months for Perth, about 3 years for the rest of the world), Speakeasy is a going theme at the moment. Head underneath the Heritage building into a slightly secretive location and you’ll find a sultry, grown-up bar that does Prohibition-America rather perfectly. It feels authentic. It feels like your shut away from the world and no one will know where to find you. I like it. The music is lovely 20s jazz and the dapper barmen are more attentive than a mother to her newborn. These gentlemen are also very good looking. I saw suits swigging Pinot Noir as well as rufty-tufty folk shucking oysters. It could be the new thing, but so far Bobeche draws a mixed bag of characters and I like it. It makes it feel even more like you’ve slipped into a scene of Boardwalk Empire. I’m calling it my Winter bar of choice. For adults only.
