Hyatt Regency Perth

Stayed in Regency King Club room for wedding anniversary and it was exceptional! Valet parking was very expensive but everything else was excellent

My husband made reservations here for my visit to see him while in port. He reserved a club room (on the 8^th floor) which gave access to the morning continental breakfast and evening appetizers/​cocktails (and amazingly good complimentary wi-​fi). I highly recommend spending the extra few dollars as the hotel is not really walking distance to any coffee shops, restaurants or bars.
The room is very bland and average. The view of Swan River was a nice touch but not worth really worth the extra $$$.The bathroom was super tiny with very little counter space and a walk-​in shower with half a glass door. I would say average, at best.
We ordered room service and found it to be prompt and very good quality. We enjoyed drinks at the bar in the lobby a couple times. It was always busy, morning/​noon/​night, with patrons hanging out for what appeared to be business meetings or waiting for their rooms. Definitely not the place to have a cocktail before heading out in the evening.
The pool is on the roof and had no views except of the apartments across the way. The restaurants vented above the bungalow area and it definitely smelled of the chinese restaurant on the first floor. There were tennis courts and we frequented the dry sauna in between dips in the pool.
My only real complaint is this: although considered «downtown» Perth, it is not walking distance to many things which is not a fault of the Hyatt Regency, just a fact. I would say this is a fine hotel for business travelers but not for someone looking for a vacation experience.

This was my second experience with High tea and I must say the buffet style is good because it means you can chose what you enjoy and as much of it as you like other high teas I’ve found something you get a few things you don’t like and your kind of stuck with them whereas here on go up and chose what you want and so even if you get something not to your liking you have sooo much more to chose from! It’s $ 50 a head but there include endless buffet of savory and desserts and endless champagne and tea. The girls were very attentive and fill up our champagne everytime we finished our glasses. Would recommend for a big group catch up or birthday!

The best quality buffet I have experienced. Im in love with cheeses, cured meats, smoked and raw fish from South Australia as well as locally. Oysters were amazing.
I didn’t have room for dessert unfortunately but I’m up for that next time.

Over the past year, I’ve lived at the Hyatt Regency Perth for months on end. This place is my second… nah…it’s my first home!
The staff is what makes the difference. From the bellmen at he door, to the front desk, housekeeping and especially the lounge staff… everyone…has been wonderful.
The happy greeting in the morning, cheerful service in the evening… makes my stay. Combine that with Robin, Lauren and the rest of the front desk taking care of every need and you have a world class hotel!
I’ve been all over the world and this lac is special!
I will keep coming back.

This is a high quality and comfortable hotel, with outdoor heated pool and complimentary wifi for hyatt guest members. Regency Club lounge opens for breakfast until 10am, and opens @ 6pm for cocktails & hors d’oeuvres (save room for dinner).
Front desk and Café staff are most eager to satisfy their guests. However, there was a little issue with satisfying my desire for cool air during the night in our room. Apparently the controls change during the night, and it was very frustrating dealing with the hotel on this.
Location and proximity to town was excellent. We were able to walk, and the hotel provided a shuttle service to/​from a nearby restaurant one evening.
All in all, a very positive experience.

I should point out be a local a have never stayed here; however my visiting work colleagues often do, so I have seen the rooms, the club lounge and the restaurant & bar regularity.
Whilst they have maintained the site as best they can and the trims are good sized (especially by Perth standards I am told) they are dated and basic.
One thing that thankful remains excellent is customer service I have always found concierge helpful, the bar accommodating and when I have used their function rooms the events staff were informative so this is great.
It is the pricing that gets me I guess, I can often stay in the Grand or Park Hyatt brand hotels on the east coast for less than the Regency here!

The Perth Hyatt Regency is a comfortable business hotel located near the financial CBD in Perth, Western Australia. It’s a block away from Swan River so you get some fantastic views of the water.
The building itself is a bit on the older side, guessing it was originally built in the 60s or 70s? It’s currently under renovation so you’ll hear the occasional banging and hammering. I hear floors 8 and 9 have already been renovated while the rest of the hotel is still older and crummier in terms of room décor. The 8^th and 9^th floor are reserved for regency club guests with a great club lounge on the 8^th floor.
The staff at this Hyatt are fantastic. Everyone is so friendly and helpful.
Although it’s not the fanciest hotel or in the swankiest part of town (is there a swanky part of Perth?) it’s a consistent and comfortable hotel for business purposes.

I’ve stayed since I first arrived in Perth. It was fine for an interim place while I looked for an apartment, but don’t expect anything but ordinary rooms. Don’t let the rates of $ 250-​$ 400 a night fool you. You’ll be in a rather standard room with a desk and maybe a view of the river which is nice. The furnishing are the standard modern hotel type with a very generic, but clean, feel.
I chose this hotel because there were no local Starwood properties and this was the only Hyatt in the area.
BEST HOTEL FEATURE:
If you do stay here, make sure you get 8^th floor lounge access. This is included if you have status or get a room on the club levels (8^th or 9^th). The lounge breakfast is not hot, but a very good selection for a continental breakfast. The evening is why you want lounge access. Light apps (cold), dessert and open bar (yes, OPEN BAR!!!) for 3 hours every evening. Being from the US, Perth is pretty expensive when it comes to adult beverages and the bit extra you might pay to get lounge access is well worth it.
BTW, if you have status, I recommend you get a room on a lower floor (go figure). They tend to be slightly larger with a separate shower and tub. LOL, I did say slightly.
This hotel is pretty popular for its event space and most nights have something going on, but you won’t be bothered. it is generally quiet when you are in the room.
One last little thing I noticed. The service here is not personalized at all. I’ve stayed all over the world and I’m used to living out of a suitcase. After staying for over two weeks, very few staff take the time to be friendly. I’m not sure if that’s just Australian service and I should just get used to it (I have just come here and this is my first visit to Australia). Things that make you go hmmmm…

I have never stayed here but I can only imagine how pretty the rooms are with great day time views of Langley Park and the river and great evening views of Perth’s new colourful nighstcape (unless you are in a room on the other side of the building in which case you will have… well…a view of a street).
I came to a bridal fair here and had coffee in the reception café. It was a well laid out fair and all the hotel staff were lovely and accommodating to all the mad future brides.
The coffee and high tea is delicious and makes you feel very fancy indeed. The front of the building could be prettier or more noticeable but they seem to be doing ok without the extra snaz.

While I’ve never stayed at the Hyatt, I used to walk through the building every day to go to work. I always liked the reception space: the expansive open lobby lounge, the marble everything, the elephant water falls. It’s cheesy and it’s dated, but there’s something wonderful about it at the same time. The Hyatt plays home to a dessert buffet, a restaurant, a bar and a café — which are all fairly average, nothing too special anyway (although I haven’t eaten at the restaurant). There’s an amazing art collection on the first floor (a workmate and I once checked it out on our lunch break) plus a lavish outdoor heated pool (again — lunch break). I have a soft spot for this place, if I ever found myself out of town (and with cash to throw around), it’d be my hotel of choice for sure. It’s also on Langley Park and thus really close to the river.
