Apart from Amps, this seems to be one of the only really late night bars in Perth. When it first opened, I went very early in the night, and the place was empty. More recently I went at 11.30pm and the place was pretty packed. I hear it’s cranking till sunrise, but I am far too old and boring to have witnessed that. Music was 80−90s(oooh yeah) and the bartenders were friendly. Drinks are reasonably priced, and I strongly recommend the fresh apple juice and rum, though it takes a while for them to juice the apples, so you’ll need to be patient. Definitely a dive bar, which is refreshing in Perth as there’s not many of them. The crowd like most Perth bars, tends to be slightly young, but there’s a good enough mix, so if you’re 30+ you won’t feel too ridiculous. Guy to girl ratio seems to swing to strongly male dominated, so a great spot for a ladies night.

Joe’s is a hospitality hot spot and between 1:30am and 3am every Friday and Saturday. In these early hours, a gaggle of bartenders will descend the steps of Joe’s to drink rum and cheap beers and to feast on peanuts; 99% of which end up on the floor. Joe’s is a great dive bar — there’s loud music, lots of tasty beers and lots of liquor. The service is good, the bartenders are great, and if you feel like throwing it down on the dance floor, you can move your way through the crowds of people and let loose. It can get pretty crazy in there, so it’s not for the faint-hearted(or for anyone who’s allergic to peanuts), but it does exactly what it says on the tin — «Dive bar, rock’n’roll, craft beer and hard liquor.»

What a great addition to the Northbridge scene! Vibe was grimy, just like a late night bar should be and there was a good crowd aged around 25 – 35. Dancefloor was small but full with really good indie classics keeping the crowd happy. Drinks are cheap… still can’t believe they do wine on tap! Good for a fun, cheap night out with a group.

Joes juice joint is located downstairs and is Americana themed with pinball machines. This is exactly what Perth needs. Brilliantly done And perfectly executed. It had loud music so don’t expect to have a conversation. Just dance and have fun! Let loose!!!

Checked out this place on Friday night. Atmosphere TICK. Music TICK. However, the music volume was suddenly turn up after 10pm and I couldn’t enjoy chatting with my friend anymore. And disappointedly Old Fashion tasted way too sweet for me… But I love the atmosphere :)

It was my first time at Joe’s Juice Joint last night and I was impressed. The name is slightly misleading but I wasn’t disappointed. The entrance leads you down a dingy corridor, down some stairs and into a small, dark dive bar complete with leather booths, low hanging lights and a good mix of music(Black Sabbath was on when we first sat down). Not a huge selection of tap beer but I believe the cocktail menu is quite extensive and all drinks come with monkey nuts. A very interesting place that is definitely worth checking out.

Saturday night — dark, grungy and seedy. Just like the best dive bars in Brooklyn. Great chilled and unpretentious atmosphere — love the diner-style booths and pinball machines, too. Staff were pretty friendly and prices reasonable. Try the whisky + fresh apple juice combo — you won’t regret it.

I AMINLOVEWITHTHISPLACE! Dive bar NYC style right in the heart of Northbridge! Just made my heart swoon. Black leather booths, low hanging lights, walls decked out in rock posters from Johnny Cash to the Red Hot Chili Peppers. I went to order a drink and got a bowl of peanuts and a spare for the shells straight up! Excellent service and wicked variety of drinks. Open till late no generic type of crowd, mix of music, pinball machines and wicked vibes. Located down the alleyway between James and Francis st next to Mechanics institute and Central Tafe. I will definitely be back here ASAP

Small, dark basement bar. Full of dark booths for doing dark deeds. Mainly a whisky bar, but a decent rum and tequila menu. Free peanuts Seriously though, it is crazy dark with grungy music and band posters adorning the walls. Your eyes barely acclimatise before you are lured over to the two pinball machines that are blindingly bright in comparison. I came here in the last stop of a pinball pubcrawl and it was the perfect venue for it.

It’s a small place down a Northbridge alley and I’m not too certain whether they serve juice. Awesome place. Great quality drinks. It’s very small without being over crowded. The music is a little loud but the range from Hendrix to some punk classics was heaps of fun. After a fairly taxing day at work, it was the perfect place to unwind on a Friday evening.
