Completely agree with the other review. Ok, so they are in the process of renovation, much overdue and to be honest, it doesn’t seem much improved yet. Be prepared for what is indeed Australia’s worst airport. The mining boom has come and gone but obviously nobody could agree on what to do… More confusion now, Jetstar and Qantas leave from the old Domestic airport renamed Terminal 3&4. There is still lots of construction going on, but these two terminals are linked if you want to use the Qantas lounge or browse in more than one small shop. To board a Jetstar flight be prepared to descend some stairs and hike along the Tarmac! For Jetstar arrivals you just get the long hike. Virgin leaves from a new Terminal next to the international airport, roughly 10 kms away! Food is expensive, luggage trolleys are as well(if the cart dispenser is working), and the place is dark and feels grubby. Still no good public transport link to town. Taxis are expensive($ 35 to get to the CBD), at times missing in action, and this time there was nobody organising the queue either, so chaos reigned. For what is a resources focussed city, I have often had to apologise to visitors to our office about the poor airport facilities.

Place rating: 1 Victoria Park, Australia
This has to be one of the worst airports in Australia. In 2012 the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission released a report that was judged by airlines, rating Perth Airport as the worst in Australia. The same report also rated Perth Airport as below satisfactory. Since 1997 Perth Airport has been operated by the private company now called Airport Pty Limited who have been given a 99 year lease from the Commonwealth Government. The problem with a private company operating this piece of essential infrastructure is that they are a commercial business who are devoted to making money for themselves. For this reason the social benefits of commuters are often overlooked in order to chase profit. During my visits to Perth Airport I have often been stuck in long queues waiting for a taxi. I always find the parking congested and too expensive. The carpark is spread out and if you can only find parking at the end its a long walk to the terminal. The fast drop off areas are inadequate. The food is overpriced and commuters are forced to pay $ 4 to use a luggage trolley. The different terminals are also confusing. Whoever authorised the paving outside the domestic terminal is a moron because each paver has a bevelled edge that wreaks havoc on the wheels of commuters suitcases. I find using Perth Airport a horrific experience
