Okay one star down, but in summertime only because of the INVASIONOFTHEWASPS. Honestly, they ran us off from the outdoor seating. It probably won’t be a problem once the weather gets a bit cooler.

I love to revisit this place every month or two. They have a large and varied menu, nice décor, wonderful staff who are attentive to your needs and a great location. Their all day breakfast is full of all the things you’d expect, and everything I’ve tried has been delicious so far. The s&p squid is very good, as are the milkshakes. If you’re ever in Port Adelaide and looking for a place for a relaxing, quality lunch in a nice historical area, this is my go-to.

I really like this place; they do an all day breakfast, have some lovely staff and a really sweet set up. They are also located just across from the Maritime Museum which makes them a perfect spot for an afternoon out. I came here on such a nice sunny day(which no doubt added to my enjoyment) and we could have sat very happily either inside or outside. I ordered Eggs Benedict and my friend got the French Toast. Both were simply presented(no excessive«plating up» here) and tasted beautiful. I had a smoothie too which was nice but could have been a bit stronger. All in all a really nice brunch spot — especially with the weather getting nice again.

I visited this café today, on first impressions the venue was quite nice and comfy on a cold windy day at the port. The prices for the food are higher than what you would expect to pay elsewhere. The quality of the coffee was below average, the barista burned the grounds which made the experience poor.

If you read any of my other reviews you’ll see that I don’t often give away 5 stars. Well, I don’t give 5 stars away at all. They have to be earned. That is exactly what Café Foreyou has done. We’ve been in there five or six times in the last six months at least, and every time walked away smiling. It doesn’t matter if you’re just after coffee and cake, a light breakfast, or a sophisticated lunch they’ve got you covered. The décor and the furnishing of the inside of the café is stylish without reaching that point where you’re saying to yourself«target marketing and demographics analysis ahoy!». The paper and crayons on the tables are a nice touch for the artistically minded or just childish(like myself) that enjoy scribbling. We’ve left artwork, haiku, and diagrams on every occasion. The menu is progressive, with some standard favorites. I particularly like the salmon salad, but as someone that tends to find a few things on the menu and stick with them I’m still confronted every time we go with chalkboards full of things that I want to eat. My biggest issue is I don’t have enough stomach for everything I want to order. Every single time we walk away happy that we came, and looking forward to returning.

Last time I was here we had breakfast during the Port Adelaide Festival — which was terrific by the way — the meal was excellent and filling. At the counter we paid for the meal and the Saturday paper, we headed out and running out after us was the waitress with our money for the paper… turned out it was free… bonus! Once called The Lipson Tearoom as posted at the top it’s now called Café Foreyou and is the one and only café on Lipson Street offering so much character, a good menu, good prices and a quiet location. The rustic exposed brick walls inside add a warm ambience and the counter at the back has an industrial look, it also contains a cake display to tempt you to have a slice with a great tasting coffee. Artists can display their works on the walls which are for sale too. Great location, great food, great service.
