Is that a tyre swing and a fixie parked in the middle of an industrial estate? That can only mean one thing. Coffee is close. Yep, Salford Lads Club is indeed a coffee shop and café, tucked away in the back of Port Melbourne(just up from Bunnings and the big post office in the industrial estate). Depending on whether you come during the week or weekend, you’ll find either a peaceful escape from the office or a bustling café packed with couples and families before/after their DIY shopping expedition. Coming here at 2pm on a weekday, the place was so dead I almost thought they were waiting for me to leave so they could close. Coffee is as hit and miss as the service, but overall a nice spot with decent food and a far cry from the snag and soft drink stand which is their only real competition in the immediate vicinity!

Some say the coffee is hit or miss, however I’ve never been let down. Food is outstanding, and the adage that you get what you pay for holds true here ! Can get a little tricky to seat large groups, so get in early if you need more than a couple of seats at the shared tables.

One of the coolest restaurants i have seen for a while. Very Melbourne; trendy shop fit in an obscure location. Food was good quality at a reasonable price($ 17 per meal roughly). To improve they could bring water to your table instead of having to fetch yourself, and the menu is quite small. We got lucky in the parking but I have the sense that it’s pretty limited. Still give it 4 stars and will definitely be back!
