It’s a weird but true fact that when my parents came to visit from interstate, this was one of their favourite shops. I lived around the corner at the time and they couldn’t believe you could have such a lovely wine store, deli and cake shop all rolled into one just five minutes from your couch and waiting glass.
While my parents’ enthusiasm might have been a little over the top, they were absolutely right about this shop’s awesomeness. They’ve got a great range of handpicked boutique wines (including organic drops), a full deli section with imported cheeses, olives and dips, and am amazing cake section with individual portions of all kinds of amazing treats.

«You don’t want to buy that crap… I know it’s on sale, but it tastes like the sale price… cheap». The salesman behind the counter was saving us from a night of bad wine. Walking around the shop I noticed they carried ½ and bottles (the perfect size when you just want to have a glass or two with your meal and don’t want to open a whole bottle of wine). They also have some deli goods (cheeses, olives, dips and breads) to go with your wine or bottle of liquor to take to that dinner party or give as a gift. They have a good selection of organic wines and have some interesting smaller vineyard wines (l liked the label of two Italian boys… pick them up and take them home). The salesman also mentioned that they are redoing their stock so they have about 100 wines that will be on sale for cost so if you are in the market for some good wine at good prices you should stop in.

As far as Liquor Shops combined with Deli’s in Potts Point it is fairly impossible to compete with the impressive Bottega Del Vino, so Potts Point Liquor and Deli must have a tough job as both on Macleay Street, they are within a few minutes walk from each other.
Potts Point Liquor and Deli’s strength is their price range is much broader than Bottega Del Vino’s offering more mid range product as well as the higher end lines. So it is handy for those of us who need to stay conscious of our credit card limits, yet still want a nice bottle of wine.
Potts Point Liquor and Deli have impressively offered a range of organic wines and they also run their own cellar club. Regarding the deli side of the business, the main attraction is the Bangalow Cheese, which is sourced from the Byron Bay area. This is delicious award winning cheese and they have an array on offer.
