This is kind of the place I like. Yes it’s trendy and all, but it has a nice layout and doesn’t seem to dingy and ratty. It’s a good little spot for this part of chapel street. I think, given time, this place will be more popular and why it isn’t already is a little strange. Yes! Bohemian, that’s the word I’m looking for, by god, I’m guilty of some thunder stealing today. I’ve had a few drinks here, but not food coffee or else wise. still a great place to go.

Well I’m here, and I can’t check in, so I might as well write a quick review! I tend to stop in here before going to work and grab a pot of tea and a muffin. I have not had the meals, so I can’t rate those. The garlic, herb, and cheddar muffin are great! The actual meals look pretty standard for most cafes. Coffee is apparently great too. What I enjoy is the atmosphere. Clean, laid-back, friendly, and just the right amount of hipster-ness. The street-side seating is great for people watching along Chapel Street, and there’s a drink special for almost every day of the week(except Fridays/Saturdays). For instance, Sundays are $ 3 ciders all day. I also remember having a quick glass of wine here after work and it was nice with an average price around $ 8. Overall, not too shabby. Not my first choice on Chapel Street, but there’s almost always room here if your first choice is full.

The bohemian, Forbidden Forest interior made me pause at Three Monkeys. And perusing the menu offerings made me check in for breakfast. The décor is completely charming and the bench at the front offers great vantage point for people watching along Chapel St. There are some left of centre brunch offerings. I eeny-meeny-miney-mo’d my way to «The Antipodean» — corn fritters with smoked salmon, poached eggs, tomato cucumber salsa and roquette. It was a plentiful dish and the eggs were cooked perfectly, but fritters were a little dry to tell the truth. The coffee however — seriously better than good! Creamy, creamy crema and a bit on the strong side. Service was super charming too.
