Where in Melbourne can you go to Carnival and eat a feast without going to Rio de Janeiro? Viva Brazil on Friday and Saturday nights. Brassy, upbeat Brazilian music and dancers reign over your senses when you first walk in. You can’t help but smile. Everyone is excited, you’re excited, you would rather dance than eat(good fun in groups and perfect for partners), but then you look at the menu. Viva Brazil is a Brazilian churrascaria steakhouse and bar offering amazing and refreshing caipirinhas! The caipirinhas come in a range of flavours, we tried passion fruit and mixed berry, they were refreshing and fantastic! Don’t leave without trying one. The way the menu works is, the barbecue(slowly roasted for that smokey taste) comes to you. It’s all you can eat including sides. The meats are on rotate delivered by the Passadors and you have an amazing selection of tender meats including Brazilian sausage, rump steak, pork and beef ribs, chilli chicken(so good), sirloin, smoked ham leg, pork neck with parmesan, lamb ribs and chicken sausage. There’s more(up to 15 on offer), but that’s all we could eat, all the meats were cooked to perfection. You can order endless amounts of sides, we ordered garlic mashed potato, mixed salad, sautéed garlic mushrooms, fries(perfect), bread crumbed banana, Brazilian potato salad(not a fan) and mixed peppers vinaigrette. I highly recommend you try all the sides since there’s no limit on how many you can order, but the rising stars would be the garlic mashed potato, fries and the mixed peppers vinaigrette(ordered 2 of them). If you manage to survive the onslaught of meats and sides, there will be dessert, a roast cinnamon pineapple waiting for you. It’s refreshingly sweet and is a fitting end to the madness. I have yet to experience a menu that has better value than what’s on offer here. The atmosphere is perfect and you will leave with the biggest smile and a food coma. Quick note on the service, when staff were explaining the experience, we were promised garlic bread, but it was lost in the Brazilian magic. We were having such a good time, we didn’t realise that no one had attended to us for 35 minutes. However, when this became known, the waitresses and friendly Passadors were ultra-attentive the entire night, Brazilian redemption at its finest, but the garlic bread was last seen with the dancers. Looking for a great barbecue experience? Make this your first option.

Food is divine! Just a wide variety of gluten free meats. Constantly circulating(we got the all you can eat feast!) and had a great serving of salads(and cassava chips! Omg! Yum!) very impressed and we’ll be going back!(Very good for a paleo palate too)

Now keep in mind I came in for a quick glass of cab but left with much more. The manager of the restaurant, Fabio made me very comfortable by speaking with me as it was prior to the dinner rush. I tried an awesome appetiser of beef, chicken and cheese balls with a tangy Chilli and BBQ sauce. They were divine! My wine was a+ and the servers were courteous! Dinner here next but what I had along with the attention and seeing some of the goodies come out tell me this is a place to go off chapel! Way to go Fabio(ladies, no long hair here)
