I come here for their delicious garlic and spiced fried quail. The salt and pepper squid is also excellent. Great food and great value. The full thermos of lovely warm green tea on every table is also a nice unexpected extra.

Ok I can’t profess I am a bun rieu guru but I love Phở Hung’s version of bun rieu with meat loafs, omelettes, and *gasp* not for the faint hearted, congealed blood. So I didn’t eat the congealed blood but there are plenty of things to rave about here. The vermicelli was oh so smooth and the tomato based soup was rich and delicious. I don’t actually know where the crab bits are although I can taste the crab. I have had too much crappy bun rieu in Melbourne CBD and was very pleasantly surprised to see that this one came with a different plate of salad for your noodle soup than the traditional phở. This salad came with really fresh shredded lettuce, mint and Vietnamese mint, whereas normal phở comes with basil, bean sprout, lemon and chilli. The service is slightly crappy, I asked for more chilli and they said yes yes yes but it never showed up, but for fast and delicious food this is the place to go.

Crappy service. Forreal. The only thing they have going for them is the food. And this saddens me. Because if the service was good i’d go out of my way to get here from yarraville. And the crappy service isn’t just because its a ghetto vietnamese joint. With all the places I’ve been at i get how it is and am tolerant. But these folks… The waitress obviously hated her job and took it out on us. She eye rolled at us as we were ordering! Wth. Poor Leisha had asked for nuoc mam sauce sans chilli 5 different times to different waitstaff who nodded in acknowledgement. Even i asked… But we saw nothing. So bad we had to go up to the register and demand it. Also, wait time for food was ridiculous. I think the bowls of phở came out 30 – 40 mins after we ordered. Meh to this place.

Not sure what the other reviewers saw that I didn’t, but 2 stars are for decent food & prices, but being that I’m not local I have no need to go back. I’d rather drive to Richmond or Footscray. Service was horrid. From the moment 2 of us walked in & I was trying to advise there was 5 of us and being ignored, to having to ask for sauce without chilli FIVE times, I’m also not sure how hard it would be for any of the staff to smile perhaps even once?!? As far as Phở goes, it took way to long to be served, and my vermicelli & spring rolls were nice enough but nothing special. I also don’t have a problem with poor service in quick & dirty Asian joints, but this wasn’t even remotely quick. Fun Fact: they bring the dishes out on yum Cha style trollies

After reseaching on Unilocal the best Chinese food in my area, I decided upon Phở Dzhung. This was going to be a take away effort for me as I just wanted to sit on my couch and pig out. I have a feeling the best way to experience this food is by eating in. The restaurant was very busy and it is a much better idea to call ahead with your order. Since we couldnt find an online menu we went down to place our takeaway order and I immediately regretted not phoning the order in. We were told there would be a 25min wait which was fair enough but as we added 2 entrée’s to the order the wait increased by another 10 minutes as the kitchen only has 3 woks, so we were told. I found this news pretty ridiculous and for the amount of money we paid for the meal, they could go buy 2 new woks to speed things up. After the wait and the quick trip back home, we ended up with an extra dish in our bag and one lettuce leaf in a bag which we were a little confused by cause it didnt match up with the extra dish we got. The food was still decent not the worst I’ve ever had but it hit the spot for my chicken snd csshew cravings. The prawn toast was also quite good too. Next time I think I’ll eat in so I can get a better food experience.

Phở Dzung. I’ve been calling it Phở Hung and I don’t know what is the right one?! regardless, this place is close to home, it is always packed and most of the waiter/ress are friendly and quick. Perfect phở dinner if you are a local, If you are not in the mood for a Phở soup, try the Bun, vermicelli noodle with salad and sauce and meat of your choice. Light, tasty, and filling. My fave is Bun with prawn spring rolls. Cards accepted(with minimum) and there are tables at the back, so dont be put off if its busy. Just let them know you are waiting for a table. Most dishes are around $ 10 yumm yumm

Not much to add except for brilliant Phở. I absolutely love Phở and eat it at least twice a week so when I found this place near by I was a very happy camper. I’ve tried a lot of the other items on the menu and they are ok but not great at all. It’s all about Phở here and it as good as any I’ve had in Australia or in Viet. There cousins shop by the same name in Springvale might just out do them with a slightly cleaner broth.

Love this place, always bustling, and the food comes out fast and fresh. The phở is awesome as is the crispy calamari with spicy salt.

You may need to wait a few minutes to get a table, but once you do you will be happy. There are many Chinese and Vietnamese eateries in the area, but I think this one is the best. Their rice noodle soup«phở» is delicious, and prepared very quickly. Try a chicken phở, with some prawn spring rolls. Tea is complementary.

Preston is spoilt for choice when it comes to food concerning chopsticks. Phở Dzung is one of the better Asian eateries along the High street of Preston. If I had to give one tip it would be stick to the soups. The beef/chicken phở are both excellent and great value under $ 10 and come packed with fresh mint, chilli and lemon. I have seen a few of the stir-fry/chinese dishes and they look average, glutinously average. The service is congruent with the pricing, short and sharp. Its fine I wasnt leaving a tip anyway.
