History
Established in 1982.
The photographic imaging college, course began in 1982, at a school called Brighton Technical School. The original founder of the course, designed the course in close consultation with some of Melbourne’s leading tertiary photography colleges at the time.
We now reside in Preston, and have continued to expand our offerings in terms of courses and facilties. We now teach Certificate IV in Photo-imaging and the Diploma of Photo-Imaging. We teach both Analogue and Digital processes in both black and white and colour. We are one of the few schools n Melbourne that offer black and whit and colour analogue facilties.
The current standard of our studios and analogue and digital equipment would now be amongst the best in the southern hemisphere. This course is a full time course which has a minimum of 20 hours contact hours.
Meet the Manager
Mick S.
Manager
«I find that the learning atmosphere here at PIC is particularly appealing and extremely encouraging for the creative and expressive demands of the prospering photographer/image maker.» «I sometimes feel I can relate Anthropology too strongly in my image making. But then I become absorbed in the technical aspects of materialising my concerns. The relationship I have with Photography is two-fold. The Craft and Vision; and I do have a ticket to vacillate.»
