Great Friday night pasta. I bravely went for the pappardelle with chicken hearts and liver — delicious! Other dishes we had included fettuccini with broad beans and peas,(Vego or vegan) and spaghetti Napoletana. All delicious. I also had one of the best ginger beers I’ve ever had — «strange love». Very gingery and citrusy, almost spicy with cinnamon too. Can’t wait until they get their license– currently no byo either. Deserts we had were ricotta balls which were a kind of lemony Italian doughnut, and a blueberry tart. All were yummy. They also make a kind of Viet coffee with expresso and condensed milk — good strong but balance flavours. Really a simple and social atmosphere with a large central table that may force you to sit next to someone you’ve never met!

I go here way too often because it’s amazing. Lots of good veg options, they recently started doing Friday night past night, I had buckwheat pasta with potato and greens or something like that, really good!

Wowsers. Amazing little place, do yourself a favour and visit. Our flat whites were mid strength, great flavour, text book pour, terrific. Our eggs in sugo and polenta with peperonatta dishes were superb, faultless, great flavour, well presented. We shared an awesome ricotta ball to finish. Non pretentious, lovely feel/atmosphere, great staff. I can’t remember the last time I was this impressed with my breakfast. Don’t all rush there at once because I want an immediate seat on my next visit.

What a great funky café! A little treasure. I had a group of ten people and although they don’t take bookings they were so incredibly accommodating and fit us in perfectly! The food was sensational, the atmosphere was fun and the staff were great!

Great local café. Early in the morning on a Sunday is definitely the ‘kid zone’ with high chairs a plenty, so they welcome smaller folk. The food was fresh and rustic-Italian inspired. I tried poached eggs with a sugo and crispy pancetta. The other dish of avocado and lime on wood oven bread does what it says on the tin — mountains of fresh avo on crispy bread doused in fresh lime(I’m pleased I saw a little pip — so I know it was fresh lime!) The only drawbacks were that the coffee was quite strong in flavour and the bread was ultra-crisp. Ultra. You might need power tools… There are dessert options and milkshakes on the menu if you prefer something a little sweeter. This is a good little local with a good breakfast menu and relaxed casual vibe.

I heard about this place from an Adelaide Now article — it’s new, aims to use locally grown produce(including backyard produce which it will buy from customers) and is walking distance from my house. Of course I had to give it a try! I chose to celebrate my birthday here with a couple of close friends. It is very 2013 local business — no website(only a Facebook page), no phone number, no bookings and no credit cards. I inquired via Facebook about bookings and they got back to me quickly with a friendly note saying they don’t take bookings but there shouldn’t be any problem with the time proposed and number of people. We got there a bit early just in case and the rush hit shortly after that. Nevertheless, there was no problem with the table, not even when friends arrived bearing large gifts. The place provides a light and open and friendly setting. Coffees were very good. The guys who ran it made a great effort with service and were very generous when one breakfast came a bit later than the others by bring us one of their homemade delicious doughnuts on the house. The breakfasts were also very good. The friend who always orders French toast tried, you guessed it, the french toast. This variety was served with poached pears and persimmons and generously covered with home made lemon curd. The lemon curd was excellent! I had the poached egg in tomato on toast with minestra(this version being a mix of sauteed greens with cannellini beans. Very yummy and generous sized serve. The other two guests both had the poached eggs on toast with peperonata and pancetta. The peperonata was extremely tasty. And I couldn’t go past the salted caramel brownie to take home for later. This is a business that is new and local. It has a bit of growing to do, but a lot of potential. The front of house guy is great but seems a bit stressed. The food is great. They aim to be environmentally friendly with the locally grown produce and cloth hand towels in the loos(I nice touch). See the Facebook page for photos of the daily breakfast and lunch menus.

Awesome little café on the corner of Vine Street and Churchill Road. Italian home cooked dishes, with a focus on organic, backyard grown produce. I just had their Panna Cotta with honey and almonds. Surprisingly delish, light, creamy and smooth. Their coffee is alright. Ricotta donut balls, crispy, light and full of flavour. Their menu changes on a daily/weekly basis depending on what seasonal produce is available.
