Since this pub is a short walk from the railway station I wondered why I never visited it as often as I could have(like, jump off the train, have a quiet beer, and then jump back on again). Well, when I did just that over Christmas I pretty much worked out why — this is not what one would consider an inner-city pub. I have been here a couple of times in the distant past and it never really inspirered me all that much. Like a lot of the suburban hotels it has a gaming room, restaurant, and sports bar, as well as a pretty tacky beer garden out the back. Really, it is probably more for the locals that have been visiting this place for years, though who knows, it might end up changing sooner or later.

Oops! I spoke too soon. For some unfathomable reason, the Reepham decided to close its salad and vegetable bar. March 2016. Also, no soup with your meal anymore. Now, if you want a salad, you need to pay $ 4.50 for some scrapings(minus tomato) that looks lost on your plate in a container twice the size of an egg cup. I spent $ 18 on a burger that arrived without most of the advertised ingredients like cheese, etc. it was a LOT smaller than the«old» ones too. Smaller buns, no egg. I took 4 people to eat there and ALL of us were still hungry when we left. A completely embarrassing undertaking. I spent around $ 75 for a couple of burgers and schnitzels. When I complained, I got«I’m sorry». Sorry for my previous positive review. Don’t go there for a meal. No wonder the huge dining room is devoid of customers.

$ 10 lunch deals you really can’t go wrong. The quality of the food is great however the meals are a bit small. I managed to finish the whole plate which is very unusual for me. But then that is what should be expected with a $ 10 meal. The staff were friendly and didnt hover over us while we tried to eat our meal(a pet hate of mine). Drinks were standard pub drinks and we didn’t have any issues with our order

Another fairly bland suburban pub, which is okay. That it’s predictable is probably a big attraction for many, as are, sadly, the pokies. Those things are absolutely awful — but I am guilty of the occasional use of these money-sucking monsters when I walk past with a two dollar coin or two in my pocket. I did end up having lunch here not that long ago. It was okay. I ordered a chicken schnitzel, which was actually not that expensive when compared with many other pubs around Adelaide. It wasn’t the best that I’ve ever had, but it was certainly acceptable, and the serving was a good size.

The Reepham is on the corner of Churchill Rd & Regency Rd, both of which are really busy roads and consequently so is the traffic around this hotel. Just make sure you’re approaching it from the right side of the road or you’ll have a pain of a time trying to get into it. The gaming area is nice and spacio… zzzz… Oh sorry, did I fall asleep? Yeah, pokies will do that to me. As I’ve said before I find them horribly boring. Give me an arcade game that requires a bit of skill any day. Let’s focus on the food, because this is mainly why I go to hotels. I like the fact they offer a garlic AND herb bread. It’s rare enough to see a herb bread on the menu, though I normally prefer it to garlic bread. A mix though? Great idea & great taste! The party of people I was with also bought a dips plate which offered some nice flavours. With the main I suggest staying away from the baked chicken which tastes as bland as it sounds. I ordered the rump steak, which was really nice, but I had a taste of the chicken which wasn’t very nice. Stick to the steak and you can’t go wrong.
