The staff here are fantastic, but the omelette was really not too flash which was disappointing

I hadn’t visited Pyrmont very often when I walked into this place. It was the morning of a work brekky at our other office and being early I decided to bean myself up. It was an exceedingly long wait. Only one serving and one making. It seemed that a table outside had thrown a spanner in the works with a large order and it basically brought the entire place to a standstill. It was ok for them, they were eating in. Everyone else ordering takeaways was forced to wait. The table eating in is right to do so though, and they *should* absolutely be served first if they ordered first. So the storm in a coffee cup falls to the café itself, and being understaffed during the morning rush. One additional person to alleviate the pressure would have ensured that not only was everyone taken care of, but that the half a dozen people that simply walked out without ordering were also converted into paying customers. The log jam compounded, due to it being an awkward pickup area with some people standing, some sitting and everyone in each others way. When the coffee came it wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t great either… It was ho hum, and the wait made it bitter. Pyrmont has 3 other cafes I have been to that are better at what they do than Union Café. If they fix their staffing issue, then perhaps most of their problems will go away. Until they do, it’s a 2.
