The service was terrible. The pizza was cold and had gristle in it. We had to ask for plates, cutlery. Got thrown a few cocktail serviettes from the bar after we asked. The music is so loud you can’t have a conversation. The bill was thrown on the table before we’d even finished eating let alone our $ 55 bottle of wine. There’s a reason it’s the only place you can get a table in the spot on a Saturday night. Don’t bother.

Lovely little bar/restaurant with delicious cocktails. The food is mainly share plates so it’s nice to go with a couple of people so you can try the different options. They also have regular drink and food specials during the week so check it out!

Short and fast review! Food: tasty but definitely overpriced Drinks: poor selection and yes, they are overpriced. Atmosphere: for the cool kids to be seen at a trendy bah mahn. Overall: if it was really that good, I wouldn’t be thinking about the cost Not even close to a top 10 finish. You’re welcome.

My first visit to this place was a few weeks back, it won’t be our last. Has the vibe you would expect from a surry hills /darlinghurst experience but located at the spot. Cosy venue which was busy, we had to wait for a table at the bar which was unfortunately 3 stools on a window ceil, not a major issue as we had a table soon enough. Food was excellent, got a broad range of tapas to share and everyone enjoyed. The cocktails and wine were also spot on, they do an after 9pm specials on cocktails which is good value and worked nicely with some old school rnb beats in the background Overall definitely a great addition to the area, could do with a few more of these places around. Recommend a visit!

Great place to have a drink in the spot in randwick. I will make from this place my «apéritif Checkpoint«. See Ben’s review to have more information. The must: Chris’ smile that I love so much :-)

Well. Lookee who just opened in Randwick? Not content with kicking epic amounts of ass in Darlinghurst, the Lil Darlin team have snagged a smashing position on the pedestrian-friendly corner of Perouse Rd just near the cinemas where they can sprawl out onto the pavement in a comfortable and aesthetically-pleasing mess of inviting tables and chairs. Caught up with an old friend for din-dins across the road and wanted an after-meal tipple. Last thing I remember is walking out of the restaurant. Then we were in a front booth at Lil Darlin. Got tractor beam? I don’t even recall crossing the road, yet it must have happened. Being a Tuesday night it was pretty quiet but there was this lovely treacle-like relaxed vibe that damn near had me slipping my shoes off and jamming a hand down my duds Al Bundy-style. This place made me feel like one of the cool kids, but in the most welcoming and unpretentious way. The wait staff are genetically blessed valkyries with shy smiles and lovely manners. The ambient lighting and velvety shiraz, the wicker bird cage and faux vines, that Sylvan glade-interior, it all got me. Love.

As a Randwick local we were very happy to see that Darlinghurst’s cute bar Li’l Darlin had a new sister in Randwick under the same name. A group of girlfriends and I went there a few nights after it had first opened, eager to try our new local drinking ground. The Randwick version is much smaller than the original but they make good use of the space with a small bar, curving lounge along the side and plenty of outdoor seating at the front. It maintains the cute, charming interior to that of the original, sadly just not as well. The mass of fake roses and vines sit half way between cute and poor taste and im not a fan of fake candles. But the bar with its cute black board, rows of wine bottles and wicker bird cage redeems the place. The staff were a little slow, un-organised and dull, but ill put that down to it being open only a few nights. The opening special of $ 4.50 pizza was the biggest baragin, the chorizo pizza was the group’s favourite, although i’m not sure its worth the $ 13 full price. The wine was lovely and all in all we had a good time. It’s a local, so we will stick by it, and hopefully it will sort out its few problems with age.
