Archie Rose Distilling

Next on the lisOne of those places that you walk in and feel like you’ve gone straight to heaven. They are a boutique distillery and make their own gin, vodka and rye whisky. Fabulous feel, great staff, it was a case of the coup de foudre for me. They have a distillery on site, where you can book tours, and an impressive list of gin flights, as well as vodka and rye whisky flights. Evidence of their meticulous attention to detail, they even craft their own tonic.

Almost adjacent to the famous Black Star Pastry, this is a distillery that was just recently open and is the only one in Sydney CBD for many years. They do distillery tours with tasting for their vodka, rye and gin (do book in advance as they have limited allocation). Besides that, they also have a bar that looks absolutely gorgeous (they are blessed with space being in a converted industrial warehouse.
Out of the 3, the gin is definitely the standout, as they use mostly local Australian ingredients (blood lime?). Along with freshly produced tonic soda, it is simply the best G&T I ever tasted.
This is still a new place and their liquor license only goes to 10pm, but for a Sunday afternoon drink (after da Mario pizza and black star pastry), this is the place to go
