If you’ve ever walked down Rundle Mall and been assaulted by the captivatingly sweet yet salty smell of Jonny’s Popcorn Delights mobile unit and thought«I must try that one day», I would urge you not to. Not unless you want to spend the rest of the day cramming deliciously fresh kernels of popped corn flavoured with a choice of caramel, butter, sweet and salty or choc chips into your face until you are deep into a food shame spiral. The popcorn is also available in stores but there’s something about the smell of the fresh batches that really gets you hooked. I can quit any time I want. Honestly.

As a recent immigrant from the US, the smell of kettle corn almost made me cry(happy tears)! I sniffed out the stand and was warmly greeted with samples and smiles. All of them were great but the sweet and salty really tasted like the original kind you get in the States. To my horror, I didn’t have any cash and was about to miss my bus :(the guy was SO nice and gave me the leftovers from the sample bag and made my day! I will undoubtedly be a regular at this popcorn truck :)

Firstly, I was not at the address listed in the details when I partaked in some Jonny’s Popcorn. I was in Hindley Street, and so was Jonny’s Trailer(mobile popcorn office). Jonny’s popcorn has been(I wont say popping) appearing at numerous festivals and major events around Adelaide for a little while now, including the Adelaide Show and the Rundle Street Markets, and this is the first time I have seen Jonny’s Trailer out and about. Pretty simple really, they sell Popcorn(bagged and freshly popped) with various moreish flavourings. You can find Jonny’s products stocked in numerous supermarkets around SA and QLD, but they taste better straight from the source! Personally, I like the sweet salty but I haven’t tried them all.
