Wunderbar

Very nice… If your’e looking for something different from your average restaurant/​pub then this is the place to go. We had 2 starters and 3 mains and they were all absolutely delicious. I got for entrée fried gruyère cheese and prosciutto little balls that were crumbed and they come with a fig and mustard sauce which was delicious. If you filled a cup with the sauce i reckon i would drink it. The other entrée was a flat bread with cheese bacon and sour cream and that was superb. We also tried 3 of the mains that they have on offer which were all delicious. Do yourself a favor and head on down to Wunderbar if your in the Rye area or anywhere close to it!!! They even had games and colouring books and pencils for the kids to enjoy. GREAT JOB GUYS, KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!!

A couch & chairs at the front look inviting & would be a good spot to relax with a drink. There’s also a rear courtyard area popular with groups. I was looking forward to the schnitzel & it looked great, but I was a little disappointed as the pork wasn’t tenderised like I’d expected it to be. My companion thoroughly enjoyed his meal of pork medallions, so of course I had to try some too. Yes, definitely the better choice! For dessert had apfelstrudel with custard & cream which was quite nice. The drinks menu is extensive & prices are reasonable. I would return to try other dishes on the menu next time we’re holidaying out this way.

I went for lunch to Wunderbar with a few friends I hadn’t seen a in a little while.
At first glance it may seem a bit plain but don’t be fooled, the service, food, and drinks here are very very good. I loved the german noodles and pork rounds «Spatzle».
We had lunch inside which was airy and cool on a hot afternoon thanks to the large open window in front. We had a table but there is also a nice couch right in the front that looks out onto the street.
After lunch we had drinks in the little garden in back. Some intersting furniture back there too.
Give it a go! I know I’ll be back many times to try every good looking dish on the menu!
Notes. For the afternoon this would be a great place to read a book or work and watch the people go by. I did not ask about wifi.
