Taking the stairs to go down under(… bad pun) to enter El Burrito Downunder, you will feel like you’re in South America! Okay well not really. The ambience is very casual and laid back. They have a Latin American theme decoration and even sombreros upon request. The restaurant seems on the newer side and very clean. Food started with tortilla chips with three different dips(salsa, guac, and a mystery dip I haven’t had before). The dips were definitely fresh and tasted amazing, particularly the guacamole. I opted for the burrito, which comes in 2 sizes — small and large. Meat selections were beef, chicken, pork, chorizo, and steak(for tacos only though). Other than the meat and size choice, there was no choices for other stuffings like beans, rice, or cheese. The burrito comes with a small salad and a bottle of hot sauce. Service was as good as a mom/pop type of shop can get — friendly, quick, and helpful.

Only just discovered this gem. Definitely the best Mexican/South American restaurant I’ve experienced so far in Brisbane. Everything from the décor to the staff were authentic!!! For starters we had the pork, cheese&bean pupusas which were really tasty. For mains I ordered the chicken chimichanga, & my partner ordered the Taquitos. In retrospect we didn’t need a «starter». The flavours were amazing in the mains and when I couldn’t finish my mains we got a doggy bag! For dessert our friendly waiter recommended the«tres leche» 3 milk cake & it didn’t disappoint. Served with strawberry ice cream(maybe a weird combo). 10⁄10 service. Will definitely be back.
