I have a bit of a sweet tooth and I have no doubt that the couple of litres of Cola that I drink daily, coupled with the odd block of chocolate may come back to bite me in the ass one day… but until then it’s off to the Sweet Shop!
Sweet Street on Semaphore Road has been around for donkeys, as has its owner. The smell when you enter is intoxicating alomost to the point where you feel you may have just snorted half a bag of Whizz Fizz. There is plenty of good dental enemies on offer and many that even I, the human sugar cube, haven’t seen before! I particularly enjoyed staring at the Sherbert Carousel and some strange icecream mini nuggets that I promised myself to sample upon my next visit.
The shop is a little run down, and could use a solid coat of lead based paint, but the contents more than make up for this.
Simple…Candy? Yes? Check it out!

I absolutely love lolly shops like Sweet Street, where I feel like… well, a kid in a candy store! I cannot go past Sweet Street without walking in, and I cannot walk in without buying at least one 20c lollypop.
The entire candy store idea may not be as intriguing and new as it once was, but I do not think that this takes away the novelty of the idea. As long as they keep selling quality candies from overseas which we would not normally get our hands on in Australia, they will keep being popular.

An old style lolly shop that sells candy, drinks, chips, chocolate, pop tarts, nuts, fudge bars, everything sweet! Most are imported from US and UK or are different versions of what we have here.
There have been more and more of these popping up in shopping centres lately, like Blackebys and Ditters etc. So they aren’t as rare anymore or that much of a novelty.
Their product is quality, and pricey, and the service is fine, but nothing special to me to be honest.
