Love the quality, convenience and original approach to ‘take-away’ The Semaphore Pantry serves up. The Twice Cooked Lamb is a favourite! And if you can get a booking their cooking classes are fantastic too.

The service and food sensations The Pantry gave me plays a big part in me regretting moving away from Semaphore. Being a single, busy, working person without huge culinary skills — coming late from work, The Pantry was the place to swing past on the way home. There is no doubt that the food produced is equalling any other restaurant food in Adelaide — And at prices well under $ 20 dollar it is a no-brainer that this is the take away you would and should go for. The dishes are lean and healthy with amazing flavour. Food for healthy, taste conscious people that take pride in looking after and feel good about themselves. I love the simple branding and the convenient nice looking black take away boxes that you stick in the micro for up to 4 minutes. BONUS — Perfect date night food, if you want to pretend you cooked a nice meal :-)

The Semaphore Pantry operates to bring great home cooking right to your table. It’s tagline, «Takeaway the difference» is a clever way to describe a business that sells takeaway meals, all cooked by the resident chef. The chef also runs cooking classes to share his skills and secrets, which I think is a great addition to the concept of this business. The only drawback are the prices which range from $ 13 for a one person serving of vegetarian lasagna, up to $ 17 for the smoked Atlantic salmon with mash, zucchini, snow peas and balsamic glaze. While it’s a nice idea, they’re not difficult meals to make yourself. Also, if you’re going to pay these prices, you can just go out for dinner and leave the mess for someone else to clean up. Or get cheaper Chinese takeaway. The Pantry also sells«pouch meals» which are meal toppings to go on rice, like Thai chicken curry and chilli con carne. These are $ 8 to $ 11 for a single serve, which is again an awful lot. No matter how high the quality, I’m not sure such simple meals would be worth this.
