Asked for a double shot late, tasted like warm milk. My friend ordered a wrap, the egg had been pre cooked and was not fresh at all. Understaffed and as such the staff were rushed and seemed stressed. Do not recommend.

Love this café. Nice and quick service! The Chai Latte I ordered here was beyond amazing! Hands down the best Chai Latte I’ve had! Will definitely be returning for another!

This darling place has a lamb out the front! Why? I don’t really know. It makes me happy though, the little boy I care for loves to pat it. Usually, this is when I get to have a chat with someone enjoying their coffee about how cute my sweetheart is! And boy are they right. This café seems to attract nice people, probably because it is such a nice café. Use of chalk– check! Use of cute café name– check! Use of lamb statue– check! Use of caffeine– check! Friendly staff– check! I enjoyed my Chai, I enjoyed the outdoor seating in Southbank. I enjoyed it and that’s what’s important. Dot Espresso, great job superstar.

When Dot Espresso opened at Southbank I was quite excited at the thought of finally being able to get good coffee at a dedicated coffee shop instead of mediocre coffee at one of the other cafes around whose focus is on their food or even clothes like Denim Co. Our relationship was short-lived however; after two burnt, bitter coffees here I’ve switched my coffee allegiance back to Denim Co. One would think that for a tiny place that only does coffee and a few baked goodies they would have coffee making down-pat. If only.

It’s funny how many people have wondered about the name of this neat little café. It is very small, true. It also looks like there is some contemporary indigenous artwork on one wall, but it’s not dot painting as such, and so, I, like everyone else, am at a bit of a loss in knowing where the name comes from(Make note to ask next time). Most of the café is outside,(the café really is only the size of a kitchenette), and it’s just a lovely little spot to leisurely kick back and people watch while drinking your very fine coffee. The service is friendly and fast. What I enjoy most about this little café treat is their odd and kooky choices in furnishing. The alfresco part of the café sits on one of Southbank’s paved thoroughfares, yet, they’ve decided to lay down a patch of astroturf and put a large ornamental sheep on the ‘grass’ so it can ‘graze’. There’s no running theme with the décor, there’s just a few fun details like the sheep that draw you in out of curiosity if nothing else. This is definitely a dot on the Southbank map worth visiting.

This aptly named café is really small as a dot. The word can’t be in reference to dot com because they have barely any web presence, as an aside… These guys are primarily about the coffee(they’re supplied by Di Bella btw), relying on a steady flow of takeaways and people stopping for a footpath brew and something from the limites menu. They do a few breakfast options as well as sweets to enjoy with your coffee like crumpets, fig toast and yummy mini muffins which are not too small, not too large, but just right.

Discreetly tucked towards the end of Stanley st lies a place with a majestic looking sheep loitering near the tables and a name as cute as a button. I am talking about Dot. Expresso one of my favourite little coffee spots in town. This place is a gem amongst the tourist drivel being peddled at Southbank. I absolutely love the raspberry chocolate brownies, white chocolate slice and the gluten free cookies. (and not to mention the delicious lavender grey tea I keep coming back to!) The service is warm and friendly, the décor is killer(Have I mentioned the sheep?) and the atmosphere is relaxed. dot dot dot what more could you want?
