Greystone also caters for functions. Whether is be a birthday, reunion, engagement, Christmas party or corporate event, we have 4 function areas to choose from depending on your function needs. Greystone is unique in that we don’t charge a hire fee, cakeage or a minimum spend. This means that your only costs are your food and drinks that you choose for your guests.

Menu packages start as little as $ 7.90pp and packages are flexible so you can create on to suit your budget. For drinks you can have a cash bar, bar tab or a beverage package.

We also cater for off-​site events in the Brisbane area. Whether it be just the supply of alcohol from our Bottle Shop or an event which requires staffing, Greystone can help you out.

History

Established in 2000.

Started off as a small bar in Southbank but is now a vibrant tapas bar, bottleshop and functions venue who is open late every night.

In for a drink on Australia Day. Good live music outside (we stopped to have a listen and a beer or two). The radio blaring inside meant we couldn’t hear the entertainment outside. This added to the mega huge prices ($ 24 for a beer and a scotch; no table service in a very average setting) led me to believe that they must only want to sell one drink to everyone before they leave in frustration. which was what was happening… obviously run by totally clueless idiots. :-(Definitely won’t be back.

Nice low key place to lounge on a couch and get a quick drink. The piña colada was so wrong and made me feel ill and also had another cocktail that was a little off but the ‘toblerone’ cocktail is quite nice and I’ve had it a few times. Chips are always nice and fresh, salt and pepper squid was nice but a little chewy and the service is always nice and friendly. Not the best place for cocktails but otherwise is ok to catch up with a friend or grab a drink before heading off.

Going past here on a friday afternoon you really feel like it’s the weekend.
The sound of happy hour hollers and greetings amongst friends
could cure any work-​a-​day blues.
Set right in the heart of the bustling southbank precinct
it’s location is great for catchup drinks.
I can’t really vouch for any of the Tapa’s they have on hand,
but on the occasions that I come in for a drink I can’t go past
their delicious cocktail menu. (I highly recommend the Life’s a Peach
or the Japanese Slipper. Both refreshing, crisp and perfect for those balmy nights.)
This place also boasts a small bottle shop that’s
got a great little selection of wines (and is mercifully open past 10!)
Greystone staff can also get a little pedantic about ID’s
so be sure to have it on hand (and to take it as a compliment!)

I’ve been here mostly for late-​night drinking supplies (this place is probably the latest opening bottle shop in Brisbane) but once or twice I’ve hung around at the bar for a few drinks. It’s an interesting place to ‘party’, because the space is fairly compact but still manages to draw a good crowd of revelers who’ll occasionally attempt to start a dance floor near the entrance to the bottle shop.
I’ve tried one of their cocktails — the ‘Toblerone’: Baileys, Kahlua, Krangelico, chocolate, cream & honey. It was delicious, but left me questioning my manhood.

I am not a fan of Greystone Bar and Cellar. Mainly because I find them sooooo annoying with how paranoid they are about underage drinkers. I am 22 ok, asking me for my ID ONCE is enough!
I came here with friends after being in South Bank, we were going straight to a friend’s house so this bottle shop was the only option and I kid you not, we got asked for ID 3 times! 1st time before we entered the shop, 2nd time while we were browsing, and 3rd time when we were purchasing! There is only 1 entrance to this place, so can they imagine anyone would sneak in? The alcohol was so expensive too, $ 20 for a 4 pack of Strongbow cider! That was one exhausting and expensive alcohol purchasing experience.
The bar itself is just a bar, I can not see anything special about it at all. I guess you would hang out here for a few drinks just to chill.
Maybe my experience was just an unlucky one but I just can not be bothered to go back there. I would suggest you only go to this bottle shop if you need to.

There’s plenty of noise and fun at this popular Southbank bar on a Friday and Saturday evening. After holding my birthday drinks here last year, I can definitely see what all the fuss is about. Their cocktail menu is fantastic. Try a Japanese slipper made of melon liqueur, triple sec and lemon juice. An appletini or mojito is also refreshing on a hot summer evening.
There is no venue hire or minimal spend which is perfect for functions. They offer a variety of food packages from the casual $ 6.90 per person which is just chunky chips, samosas and spring rolls to a fancy cocktail menu at $ 42 per person.
So whether you want after-​work drinks or a formal function, Greystone Bar and Cellar is definitely worth a stickybeak.
