Tasti D-lite

I’m a huge fan of tasti d-​lite for one big reason.
You know how they brag about having over 100 flavours and all under 100 calories a cup?
Well. About 98% of those flavours are gluten-​free. Seriously, they could be a thousand calories a cup and I’d still be excited.
Sans a star because, well, it doesn’t taste anything like the calorie rich stuff. Just don’t go expecting that sort of result and you’ll be a happy customer.

As you can probably tell from my previous review on Yo Get It frozen yoghurt, I’m a sucker for seeking out guilt free desserts. A sweet-​tooth like myself needs to be to indulge now again right?
Well enter Tasti D-​Lite — the American wonder food that has just touched down in Australia, specifically in Chapel Street, Prahran.
I first became privy of this amazing invention from an episode of Sex and the City — remember when Harry walks Charlotte to their local Tasti D Lite so she can enjoy her butter pecan each night?! It’s only been recently that I’ve discovered exactly what this dessert is; essentially an ice-​cream with fewer calories, less fat and none of that pesky guilt.
Each flavour (without extra toppings) is a maximum of 100 calories (some only 70, 80, 90). Tasti D-​Lite serves its creamy delicious, dairy dessert in more than 100 flavours including peanut butter, nutella, cappuccino, butterscotch, crème brulee, rocky road and caramel fudge (just to name a few).
Not only can you get this delicious treat in a cup, but also a cone, a smoothie, a shake or even a cake or pie! And your decision making doesn’t end at what flavour to choose but also what topping — macadamia nuts, peanuts, flakes, syrups, fresh fruit… the list is endless!
It’s fair to say I’m quite excited by this new franchise so expect to see me in there quite frequently… And I won’t be carrying the same guilt as if I was, I don’t knowwww, standing in the McDonalds queue?

Just in time for the hot season, Tasti D-​lite dessert bar is the coolest addition to Chapel street’s mix of shopping and gastronomy. Situated right in the heart of this trendy area, Ney York-​based Tasti D-​lite is the perfect spot to stop for a quick quilt-​free soft serve on a hot summer’s day or night.
All flavours are categorised under calorie group and they claim most flavours have 70 calories per 4 fluid ounce serve — equivalent to two rice crackers — so you can choose what tickles your fancy minus the bulge.
I’ve been there twice so far and each time other patrons have been as confused as I was on my first visit. Yes, the dessert bar offers over 100 flavours of dairy-​based soft serve frozen dessert. No, it is not ice cream or frozen yoghurt. No, unlike conventional ice cream bars where flavours are displayed — you can’t sample all the flavours but you can try the flavours of the day. Yes, all 100 flavours are available everyday! The way it works is you pick a flavour and the staff will individually concoct it in less than a minute. Sweet!
And with delicious flavours like black forest, dutch chocolate, key lime, coffee cake, peanut butter cup and red velvet cake — you’ll definitely need another taste. I know I do. In fact, I think I’ll head there tonight!
