Thank heavens when Little Tokyo closed their doors the building, thanks to some entrepreneurial spirit, was not destined to be another demolished Brisbane building to make way for a high-rise. With a little modification and some schmick branding, the space became Little Tokyo Two. And although there’s a restaurant upstairs, the main part of the building became a co-working and shared office hub for start-ups, small businesses and laptop warriors. For me, the attraction to LT2 has been the hot-desk co-working space where my laptop and I can change up the scenery from our home office and get our laser fingers on for some serious work sessions while being surrounded by fellow creatives, business people and interesting characters. The WiFi(so important) is solid, a small kitchenette to refuel with tea or an adult drink(payment via the honesty box), there’s ample power points for the essential laptop charging session and a warm inviting community spirit. LT2 also host a range of events from talks with interesting locals, a morning yoga class and more. Parking in this area can be a bit of a nightmare but thankfully LT2 is in the prime spot between the CBD and Fortitude Valley so public transport isn’t a problem.
