One thing I know for sure: Australia has the best fish and chips place like no other! Okay, even compared to San Francisco. Man, every time I come home, the very first thing I eat is seriously fish and chips! Delicious! This is a little local place near by my house, so walking there is very possible, plus Springvale has clean and walk-able pedestrian pathways for people to walk on. SERVICE: MacKay Fish and Chips guy is very friendly! And indeed, local and I bet family own — I’m a total supporter on local family restaurants and I think they put more love to their products — that’s why it taste so good! FOOD: I only order one item — FISHANDCHIPS! FISH is freshly battered when you order and deep fried in front of your eyes when you order. So good! There’s an actual difference when you eat it. Just the first bite — eureka!!! The fish juice just spatters out and dribble everywhere, now that’s how you know it’s fresh! Plus, it’s a little difficult when biting because it’s so fresh and hot! Steaming HOT! 5 stars. CHIPS — maybe because it’s frozen, it’s a little dry when biting into it. Doesn’t work well when the fish is so good and it totally overrides the flavor of the chips. Don’t get me wrong it’s awesome! Crunchy, and no salt — just have to add some on. Dip it in tomato sauce, not ketchup, but tomato sauce — one word: WOW. 4 stars. OVERALL: FISH, FISH and FISH! 4 stars overall!
