These are good people who run a good shop, hire great people, and stock just about everything that a man(in my case, an American with 6 thumbs) might need. I just moved into the Tranmere area and have had one DIY project after another to get my cheap rental housing bashed into shape. The folks at Home Hardware Tranmere are nothing short of delightful, helpful and thoughtful. Join their frequent buyer’s club, too, and get ever better service and discounts. It is not all that big of a store, but candidly, the Bunnings and Mitre Tens of the world are kind of daunting, if you ask me. Back home, in America, we have the big box stores, like HomeDepot, and size does not always matter. Sorry. The little guys, the ones who go for the motion in the ocean, and in this case, Home Hardware in Tranmere, have it going away! Highly recommended.

I really dislike hardware stores. Gladly, my partner is of the same opinion. However, on the odd occasion one has to go into such a store. We’ve been repainting our house recently and have been to Home on Magill/Glynburn road at least five times during the last month. They have a good selection of paint, not as big as Mitre 10 or something, but if you’re not after anything very specific and out of the ordinary you’ll definitely find what you need here. It’s not a very big hardware store but they have all the basics and at very good prices. We got a few buckets of 6L paint for $ 39 each, which was by far the cheapest among a lot of shops we looked at before. They always have great deals on and staff are very quick and friendly! You ring the bell at the paint desk, 2 seconds later someone is there to assist you. I think the people here contributed to me not disliking hardware stores quite as much anymore.
