We had returned from Hawaii a couple of years ago and after decompressing and unpacking the bags, I took one look at the terrible weather in Sydney and decided to head to my beloved Video Ezy for some movies. We had been here since I was short stuff. I would always run to grab the Duckula video before I made my other selections, we bought ex-rentals here, we rented Return Of The Jedi here, it even provided the 15 year old me with a formative copy of Twin Peaks on rare VHS. So I walked down the street and it was … gone. In its stead, a Network Video. I walked in and I couldn’t even see anything: they had decided to switch on half the lights on this overcast day. After my eyes adjusted, I could tell that the shelves were half stocked. Sad times in Timville on that day. Since then, the lights have been properly switched on and the shelves filled out, but I moved on. It seemed pricier and the crappy in-store magazine was either too crappy or not crappy enough. I can’t tell. They rolled over all the old memberships to the new store for a period after taking over, but I didn’t bother staying on. There were and are better options else where.
