Stra Haejangkuk

There are many Korean restaurant in Strathfield, and this one is full of Korean people, which means not a bad choice.
Dolsot bibimbap is the only dish I order every time in a Korean restaurant. Succulent seafood and veggies in a sizzling hot stone bowl are simply delicious.
This is my Korean restaurant of choice in Strathfield.

The food was good, but the service was pretty terrible! Getting someone’s attention, even in an almost-​empty restaurant, was really hard, and simple drink orders were forgotten or took 10 minutes to arrive.

Ventured out to Strathfield for dinner with two of my best friends. Being the K-​Town of Sydney this meant I had little choice but to eat Korean food. I’ll just make it known that I’m not a big lover of korean food (bar kim chi and bibimbab) so I’m sure this review will contain some negative bias.
We get to the restaurant and are greeted in korean and asked some questions in korean which we responded with puzzled looks on our faces since we’re all Chinese. Understandable though given it is K-​Town and «all look same». Throughout the night though I notice that the entire restaurant is full of koreans speaking korean. Not one single non-​korean person there bar us. This proves that this restaurant must be legit.
FOOD
Sides — the sides weren’t as good as sides I’ve had in other places hence why we didn’t ask for any refills. Missing my seaweed and potato.
The guys both got the pork soup ($ 12). One with bone one without. I had a taste of both soup bases. Tasted the same. Very spicy and flavoursome. Definitely hit the spot. I was advised by the friend who got the pork bone soup that by the end getting the meat off the soup just became a pain. The pork soup one didn’t consist of pork slices though but instead pig’s stomach and heart. Total yum in my opinion but maybe not some.
I ordered the Vermicelli with spicy sauce ($ 10). Thinking it would be cold I was surprised to find it was served in a cold metal bowl with an egg on top. I was so disappointed that it was cold that it only occurred to me about a minute later that they had given me the wrong dish! I knew when the waitress didn’t write down our orders one would be wrong! My meal got replaced no questions asked but again when it came out it was still in a cold metal bowl with the egg and vegetables re-​arranged. The dish wasn’t bad but it was such a large portion that I got bored of eating it halfway so the guys had to help me finish it.
SERVICE
Other than getting my order wrong nothing major to complain about. I guess trying to grab the waiters attention by saying excuse me doesn’t work there like in normal places though. Luckily they too have those awesome korean table buttons. PRESS!

In Strathfield, with so much awesome Korean food around, choosing where to go is a nightmare. If you want a mouthwatering experience that is (apparently) healthy, then you should really visit Stra HJK.
As for my experience today??? OMFG!!! I just had the best bibimbab with marinated beef rib I’ve had in years! Everything was so fresh, so flavourful, so amazing! I wish I could empty my stomach and eat it all again.
