The Loft

Unfortunately the Gold Coast is not well known for its live music scene so it will come as quite a shock to most visitors that we do indeed have some incredible, sneakily placed venues scattered throughout our fair city!
The Loft on Chevron Island is one of these places and has been a terribly kept local secret for over fifteen years. Enter up through a small doorway and up some rickety stairs and you will be transported into a quirky, double storey venue that is vaguely reminiscent of some kind of Swiss/​German Ski Chalet– with red carpet, dark wood bar and assorted paintings on the walls. As well as serving a delicious food, The Loft is a hot spot for both local and nationally renowned artists to showcase their work in a laid-​back, acoustic atmosphere. You can find most genres being played from soft-​folk to jazz to quirky blues plus they host open mic evenings so even beginners can jump up and perform for a crowd!
