The café serves Campos which instantly gives them a 5 star rating in my books. I took the leap and had lunch there today and ordered their $ 10 chicken burger with a bottle of water take away special. While delicious (avocado & cheese, nicely cooked chicken breast that wasn’t dried out), the burger was roughly the same size as one you’d get off the McDonalds spare change menu and I found myself still hungry after. Considering you can get delicious gigantic sandwiches a short walk away (North Sandwiches), I’ll probably just stick to the coffee from here.

I stumbled into Batch No 1 by default as it was on the way to where I was going. This spanking new, tiny takeaway café is tucked onto the edge of a buzzing arcade where a few besuited gents were waiting for their hot beverages, and just looking at this place and the confidence of the barista I could tell they were going to serve up good coffee. I was only after a coffee but the lemon-​infused smoked salmon sandwiches looked and sounded so damn delicious I had to buy one for later.
It was about 5 hours before I actually ate my sandwich and it still tasted so fresh then the salmon must have still been jumping when I bought it. Coffee was entirely up to standard. Tops!
