Unlike the traditional hotplace places, Di Wang provides individual pots with your favourite soup base. I dont think it is as fun as when everyone cooks their food in the same pot but I guess this is more hygienic and you dont have to worry about someone«stealing» your food! What I love about this place is that you get to make your own sauce with their wide array of condiments. In terms of food, they are pretty fresh. I am not big fan of their beef meat, but other than that, everything else is pretty good. Some of my favourite items are the fish balls/dumplings and prawns. For some reason, this place is never packed! But nonethless, a great place for families or friends gathering.

This place offers an alternative hotpot experience over the spicy sichuan style commonly found in Sydney. They offer single serve broth pots as well as the big shared pots. Those not familiar with this style of dining will appreciate the pictures on the menu. They have all kinds of meat, seafood, balls, tofu and vegetables. The vegetable servings are much more generous than other places which is a huge bonus. There is a self serve condiments station which is awesome as you normally have to pay for each serving. Service is attentive and staff speak good English which is great for non Chinesr speakers like me.

If you can get the past the snickering about the name(hehe), It’s basically a low-cost version of ipot in ways that you get individual hot pots(hygenic!), and it cooks on an induction stove. I usually enjoy coming here at lunch times(either with a few others or just by myself) — the big drawcard? At lunch they have a $ 10 special which buys you hotpot(in clear soup), unlimited rice(good for making congee after), 1 serving of meat, and vegetables. The serving is usually enough if you are not extremely hungry. And because the place is very new it is not too busy yet.
