Late dinner date with my gf. We had the famous Prawn Spaghetti with a bit spicy. The pasta was perfectly cooked and chewy. My gf has more knowledge about Italian food. She even cook. We had a great time here. Friendly staff.

I love Italian food. And Jamie’s is the best. Homemade pasta were fresh and thin. The sauce not too sticky but meaty and flavorful. Everything on this place were cool. The Food, drinks, ambiance, and staff.

Well, I have to say my husband took me and my family for our anniversary last Monday night. I so wanted to go so he booked in 1 month in advance. Well we ordered skinny fries nice, portobello mushrooms which my daughters said was very nice. We also got the artesian bread which was beautifully presented but was dry as. Then for mains all 3. Of us ordered prawn liguini with cherry tomatoes well they were all undercooked chewy, and no flavour. Although one of my daughters got the black ink spaghetti which she really liked but wS a smaller meal. As for desserts the choc brownies were very nice, but the chocolate cheesecakes were too rich and not nice. The house white wine was very nice and the place is very hip nice . All in all is go back only for drinks … Mary t

Jekyll/Hyde here. Okay so came here for lunch. It was soooooo good. The famous prawn spaghetti was sooo good. The sauce was spicy but not overly so with a good depth of tomatoes. The pasta, homemade, was sooo perfectly chewy. The ragu was really delicious as well with good meaty sauce and chewy noodles. The only thing is the Rosemary fries were very salty but still delicious. On this time, I def give them a 4.5. Service was excellent here too. Very nice guy. So we loved it so much that we came back the next night for dinner with some family relatives. Haha I loved it so much I ordered my exact same meal again. butttttt I guess we were one of the last tables to order or something bc the food was not nearly as good. Probably down to a 3. Noodles were overcooked, sauce was just plain tomato sauce. Only reason why I sway to a 4 is bc the server guy was awesome and really nice.

The food is good, I just found the menu options fairly standard It is worth visiting if you like Italian food just don’t expect it to be the best Italian food you have ever had. It is good quality and reasonably prices, just a little standard/boring for me. The staff were excellent and venue the venue has a great feel about it.

Jamie’s has always been consistently good when I’ve visited in the past, but visiting this week was a little bit disappointing. We had the crispy squid, crab and avocado bruschetta, osso bucco lamb, rigatoni pomodoro, thick chips, choc cheesecake and the pav. The squid was crispy, but in turn that made it dry. In fact, dry was the theme of the night with the lamb and chips also being quite dry(the latter tasted like it had been under the heat lamps for too long). Bruschetta, desserts and rigatoni all delish, service awesome as ever, just sad it was a bit of a mixed bag. Still great value and won’t stop me going back.

Have you heard the expression the customer is always right? Anyone who works in the service industry knows this isn’t the case but most people bite their tongue, smile and give into the whim of the customer. Not here. I ordered the truffle risotto and on the first bite I got a mouthful of interesting flavour but underdone rice. It’s one thing to say al dente and it’s another thing to say raw. In this instance the still raw grains of gritty rice made it apparent that it wasn’t done. Naturally I sent it back. This isn’t the first time I’ve done this. Twice at Bouchon I have sent their truffle risotto back and it’s always been with a smile and an apology. Not here. The server actually had the nerve to argue with me about how risotto is supposed to be cooked.(I wish my friends were on here so they could verify I make excellent risotto) Long story short and an argument with the wait staff and I get a second bowl of underdone risotto. Naturally I sent it back and had to deal with the staff again who in his opinion«was perfect, there’s nothing wrong with it» so I guess I have no idea what I’m talking about when it comes to raw rice. The food itself had lots of flavour despite being poorly executed but I feel they need to learn from Chanel — always take off the last thing you put on. A bowl of risotto does not need a chunk of blue cheese. Certainly not anything amazing.

I love Jamie Oliver and I love Italian food so what’s not to love about this place?! Pasta is made fresh on site and the menu has something for everyone. Service was a little hit and miss when we were there. We found that we went from periods of having a few different wait staff check in on us, one after the other, to times when we couldn’t get anyone’s attention. We shared two past dishes between us and found that the potion sizes were spot on. Food was vibrant and fresh and well presented. It’s a busy place however the split level dining area means it isn’t too loud.

Food: 4.5 stars — the pasta was so delicious and the superfood salad was refreshing and filling. I really liked the squid ink pasta and the white wine sauce was spectacular Service: 3.5 stars — you will have to wait if you didn’t book a table. We left our number and was called after half an hour on a Saturday evening. Our waiter was nice but too busy. It took forever for us to get the bill. I’d recommend this place if you were craving a flavorful plate of pasta. I really enjoyed the meal.

I’ve been here before and loved the food, service and experience. However this time was extremely disappointing. The service was slow which was surprising as it was a Wednesday night and we had a 530pm sitting. We waited 40mins for the kids mains and our starters. The waiter brought the cheese for the pasta after our children had finished their meals. We then waited another 50mins for our mains. The waiter brought the salad once we had finished our mains. The food was also disappointing. It was average at best. I’ve had better meals at Pitt St Westfield food court. We won’t be coming again. Sorry Jamie.

As with any restaurant linked to a ‘celebrity’, people always tell you how much they LOVE or HATE this place. Oddly I sit on the invisible recinto with this one. Arriving for our booking today was a little odd. You know it is going to be an interesting service when the bar staff in the front section give you the impression they had slept behind the bar the night before and were still asleep but with functional moving body parts that they don’t control with their minds, whilst the staff upstairs were practising their twerking unintentionally for us. Is this the new modern day version of dinner and a show… But hey, I can relate to showing up to work having had too many wine spritzers the night before and wondering if anyone will notice if you suddenly turn around and go back home. The décor and fit-out inside has a ‘modern meets industrial’ chic feel to it which is a nice contrast to the fact the exterior looks beige as everything does near that ugly part of Pitt St where it is located. I don’t know that larger people would find the seating comfortable as I looked around at people as they were seated and saw a few signs of displeasure from some people with how tight things were. Our waiter was a young guy from the UK who was pleasant and seemed to know the menu & how to do table service without being prompted which was great. I started with the Italian Bread Selection which did not disappoint(although I do have an addiction to artisan bread dipped in olive oil, balsamic vinegar, and garlic so I may be biased) whilst the rest of our party had the Ricotta Brushetta and Tuscan-Style Chicken Liver. I assumed they enjoyed them as I had pretty much ignored them whilst the bread and I shared a moment. This was followed up y the Crispy Porcini Mushroom Arancini which I couldn’t fault. For mains I had the Beef & Spinach Agnolotti which tasted way better then its presentation in the bowl but the agnolotti was slightly under cooked and I always find there is never enough in front of you to really absorb the flavours the way comfort food should and that fullness feeling you get afterwards. Overall the experience was good, the food wasn’t bad, and the venue has character but alas I neither LOVED nor HATED the experience and so I leave this review with a little colour… Penne for your thoughts???

Heard bad things about this restaurant in both London and Sydney, never thought it would happen with myself. My husband and I got there on Monday night around 9:30pm. The host told us that all the tables were full and she would not have anything open during this 45 minute period. So we decided to dine in at the bar table. It seems like a self service as we had to walk over to the bar to order food and drinks. It’s really inconvenient given that bartenders also know nothing about the menu. As soon as we got seated, I walked over to the bathrooms which located in the back of the restaurant. Can’t believe my eyes but there’re plenty of empty seats. Not that they were under reservation or anything because we saw no new people walked in and restaurant would be closed soon. We don’t really understand the system here. If you stop seating new customers after a certain time, we understand but just tell us the truth, instead of lying. Now it came to food. I ordered king scallops from fish section, expected that scallops would be giant and came in full size entrée but I got 4 regular scallops on the shells that looked more like appetizer. Taste was so so, nothing impressive. My husband ordered burger but they ran out, so he got hanger steak instead. Steak looked nice and well cooked, just under seasoned. House white wine has nice flavor and could be the best thing in this restaurant. Food was quick but mediocre. Service seemed to be disconnected. Given the unfriendly welcome from that host we got we would not come back and recommend it to anyone.

I’ve been here several times and I just do not get the love for this place. The food is average, at best, and the prices are far too high for what you get. And don’t get me started on the service. I’ve had far better Italian cooked at home by my husband for a fraction of the cost. Save your pennies, this place has a star name and a nice atmosphere, but it is really not worth the price.

Expectations 5/5, experience 2⁄5. Unfortunately I found Jamie’s Italian to be massively overrated and overhyped. The sad thing about celebrity restaurants is that they have a high standard to meet and when they fall short, the ratings are lower than they otherwise would have been(if there were no expectations). Restaurant was very busy and packed. Waiters were running around. Felt like they were trying to turnover as many diners as they could to make as much money as possible. Very unpleasant vibe. The black angel spaghetti with squid ink pasta was very ordinary, a lot of pasta but not many scallops. Tasted bland and the squid ink pasta tasted like ordinary pasta, unlike some of the other squid ink pasta I’ve had. The posh chips with truffle oil were very ordinary. We were so disappointed that we didn’t order dessert. Without the expectations that come with the Jamie Oliver brand, I would have given this a 2.7÷5.

I hate giving three stars to restaurants especially because I had high hopes for Jamie’s Italian, but maybe I shouldn’t have expected too much. I made a booking for 6pm on a Thursday night to catch up with 3 of my old work mates. We came early so we had a few drinks at the bar and tried to squeeze ourselves somewhere in the front area which was very hard to do. Once seated, the waiter we had was really lovely. His name was Fred and he had a strong German accent and was very friendly. We ordered three entrees: — Porcini Mushroom Bruschetta $ 10 — Prosciutto & Melon $ 12.50 — Crispy Porcini Mushroom Arancini $ 12 Firstly, the Bruschetta was only one slice of bread with mushrooms on top. When the waiter advised it was only one slice of bread, I thought he was joking — but alas, he was telling the truth. Nonetheless, the bruschetta was tasty and flavoursome, but as for value for money, I wouldn’t be happy if I had just ordered that entrée for myself and nothing else. The prosciutto and melon was nice. The arancini balls were good — average. Nothing to write home about. For our mains, we ordered: — 2 x Lamb and Ricotta Ravioli $ 26.50 each — Rigatoni Carbonara $ 24.50 — Potato & Ricotta Tortellini $ 24.50 Ok I must say, that I was so disappointed with my choice. I ordered the Rigatoni Carbonara which was described as crispy chunks of artisanal pancetta, sweet buttery leeks and a traditional carbonara sauce. The pasta was cooked al dente and was quite chunky and thick, there were about 5 small pieces of pancetta which were actually quite delicious and crispy — but after the 2 minutes of eating the pancetta, it was good, and so was the burst of flavour from my dish. Couldn’t really see or taste any leeks, so after I ate the pancetta and a bit of pasta, there was nothing very exciting on my dish. I’m so disappointed in my main. The sauce was quite watery, and there was just no WOW factor on the dish. Maybe I ordered the wrong dish. My 2 other girlfriends that ordered the lamb and ricotta ravioli advised that it was average, but not amazing, and that they had better lamb ravioli elsewhere so they weren’t wowed either. The star of the show was the tortellini. The truffle in the sauce really made the flavour pop! Dessert was next as initially we thought we would share the dessert, but judging from the serving sizes of the entrees, we thought it might be best to get our own dessert. For dessert our table ordered: — 2 x Chocolate & Hazelnut Artic Roll $ 11 each — 2 x Epic Brownie $ 10.50 I ordered the epic brownie which was described as warm fudgy brownie with amaretto ice cream and caramelised amaretti popcorn. The brownie was fudgy and warm as described and I would describe the food as «good but not great». It was alright. I have had better brownies elsewhere, and there was just no wow factor with the food. It was average. As for service, Fred was really nice and lovely. Friendly and attentive, but not overly pushy. I liked his style. The food did take a little longer than usual to arrive, but it was a packed restaurant and it was a Thursday night so that was fine. Cocktails were good and averaged from $ 15 upwards. All in all, the night was average. I probably wouldn’t go there again as I have had better pasta elsewhere and it is just a nightmare to get into if you don’t have a booking. I have spoken to friends about Jamie’s Italian and they advised that they enjoyed the food, so it could have been our choice in dishes. I urge you to go and make your own mind up!

What I had: beef carpaccio(not in picture), ricotta and cherry tomatoes bruschetta, prawn linguini, kingfish on lentils and baby clams(special menu) The beef carpaccio was excellent. It came with a sour tasting salad which I like and plenty of ricotta cheese. The bruschetta was also very good. Tasted very refreshing. Prawn linguini was a best seller according to them, but it was bad. Very bland. This was disappointing. Waste of tummy space if you ask me. The king fish was well balanced. Crunchy fish skin, salsa verde and lentils to spice up a grilled fish. Something I would ask my wife to cook at home. I also had two bites of the burger. Looks juicy but nothing great. The verdict. There are other Italian restaurants that are better. I would go to La Rosa or Pendolino. I paid A$ 150 for 3 adults and 2 kids for the food.

Mr. Oliver, you really know your stuff when it comes to Italian food. I didn’t realize how popular this place was until there was an hour wait for a Monday night. The food was well worth the wait though. One piece of advice that I would say is that you should make sure you know your serving sizes. My husband ordered the entrée size, which in Australia means appetizer. We regret not getting the bigger portions for our pasta dishes, but the prices are pretty high for this place. We ordered the tagliatelle bolognese and sausage pappardelle. Both were so good, like really good. Like some of the best sauces I’ve ever had in my life. The pasta was perfectly cooked and there were what I assumed were bread crumbs sprinkled on top. That made such a difference because it gave the pasta some extra texture that I never knew it needed. The service was awesome! Our waitress was actually from California like us so she told us stories about why she was here in Australia and how life there was so different from the US. This place is a must if you are ever in Sydney! And do yourself a favor and make a reservation! They are easy to get and will save you a long wait.

We had the 8pm slot and the place still packed. Beef carpaccio my way — really really good, beef absolutely paper thin Crispy arancini — really disappointing, no better than the average serve in othe places Bruschetta w pumpkin — daily special, absolutely fab Jamie’s Italian burger — true disappointment w a burnt patty Seared tuna salad — a HUGE slab of raw tuna, really not pink, w salad Squid ink risotto — nice but too salty Seasonal orange n almond tart — good Epic brownie — really not epic The food is 3 star, but the place was unbearably hot, we were upstairs, n the tables were packed so close to each other that we either shared the next table’s conversation or they were sharing ours. And the service was slow n unfriendly, there was only one card machine, so the wait to pay was epic. A real disappointment!

Loved loved this place. This was my first time at Jamie’s but I have always wanted to go, I finally got the chance to go and I will be going back for sure! Pretty much every aspect, from service to environment to food was 5 star. I have friends that told me they hated it and the service was terrible blah blah, but they are the kind of friends you don’t need in your life. Hands down this place had my wife and I walking out with full tummies and massive smiles. Slow cooked wagu beef tagliatelle(special), fennel and sausage tagliatelle was what we had as well as the arancini balls for entrée and it was fabulous! Dessert was summer fruit Italian jelly and the wife had the epic brownie that she absolute adored! All of the dishes we got were recombined by the waiter, and man he knew what he was talking about! Great place to have a night out with a few drinks and enjoy the city lights after a unbelievable meal at Jamie’s. The only tip I would give though is the portions are not monster sized so if you want to be full. entrée main and dessert is where its at, otherwise you might walk out a little hungry.
