Terrible service and a horrible experience. Owner and barister was rude and arrogant. The coffee is good but service is important to me(or just plain human decency would be nice). Wouldn’t return here if you paid me.

I got ninety-nine problems but a bad coffee ain’t one. I’m lying. I have no problems. I’m incapable of stress(another not-so-super power.) The moment I walked into so-good-we-don’t-need-to-offer-food Klink I knew I’d be starting the day right. Since going full caffeine freak and ditching the milk I have to be pretty picky about my coffee. Klink, you have made the cut. From the poor-boy caps to the blue checked button shirts, it’s everything I love about Sydney’s coffee culture. These fellows take coffee seriously. It is an art and a great responsibility. People’s careers, their very livelihood hinges on a good coffee to start the day. Colonel Klink can’t run a prison camp but Coffee Klink can run a café.

Coffee here is great. There is a table around the back where you can sit with your beverage and read the paper.

Dedicating this review to Dan P… I had tons of cafes BMd in Syd but had to stop by Klink cause he checked in here so darn freq: P I love a good ol walk-thru, especially for a scrump cup o joe! So awesome, esp cause it’s slightly cheaper than some of the neighboring joints. The café itself is quite small w only two or three small tables inside so it’s best to just get it for takeaway. Surprisingly, Klink doesn’t seem to get as busy as some of the other places, even though i’d say that their coffee is as good or even better than some of the places where lines are 20+ people deep. No thanks. No cup of coffee is that good, esp when you haven’t had any! Hah

Go to window. Demand attention. Receive hot coffee! — Magic! Whereas its buddy down the street is a smooth and creamy velvet seductress, Klink is a thug, that grabs u by the scruff of the neck, drags you into a back alley and takes you for a tumble in the rough with its rich robustness. Good service. Good coffee. Price is the standard $ 4.50 sweetspot for a LSL. I now have two choices for coffee within 50m of each other and right near work. Life is now complete :)

Confession: when I first moved to Australia, I drank instant coffee. I didn’t enjoy the taste, but I come from the land of half-sweet-triple-vente-white-chocolate-mochas and pressed coffee. I didn’t know what a real coffee was meant to taste like. Those days seem so long ago now(although I still enjoy pressed coffee, I just found better beans). The coffee snobbery of the city(country?) quickly snatched at me and embedded itself deep in my soul, refusing to let go. Now, I too am like most Sydney siders, flashing a suspicious glance at those with a fast food coffee– don’t they know what they’re missing? And along came Klink. The coffee at Klink is quite good. The brew is sharp and strong. Not as strong as Gumption down the road, but Klink is more than adequate and a close second for the area. Where this place loses points for me(in addition to not being QUITE strong enough) is twofold: 1. Its too hot. I know my long blacks can be some of the hottest drinks out there, but they don’t have to be. There’s machines that can brew at a lower temp, or the low cost DOCW(that’s dash of cold water for people that aren’t Dan P). 2. The cup and lid they use are, in my humble opinion, either cheap or just poorly made. Tying this into complaint 1, I constantly have to switch hands to keep from burning myself. The lid is incapable of forming a seal around the cup so by the time its cool enough to consume, a good portion of the coffee is all over my hand. None of the above are fatal, and overall I quite like Klink. Its nice to have some options in the morning — I’ll just ask for the DOCW next time.

Good coffee. Didn’t have the food, but the coffee is good. However, this is a darker bean so if you don’t like that kind of coffee you shouldn’t drink here. The café is in the a design school, so there is a shop and sometimes an exhibition from some of the students so it’s cool to check it out.

Best take away coffee in the city. Consistently excellent for 2 years. Neat coffee window on a fairly quiet street(for the city). The only downside is the daily telegraph placed near the coffee window — but the coffee makes up for that.

Hard to say why, but this proved to be the best coffee I had during a week in Sydney CBD. While very busy they were always friendly enough but know that they’re focused on their product and less on conversation.

The coffee was okay but the overall package is simply not up to the level I’ve come to expect of places around the town hall area. Service service service has been overlooked for arrogant hipsterism at this joint. Not cool!!!

Express-o take-away coffee served to you on the street through a comfortably large window, or have a sit-down cuppa inside in the gallery arcade. Sit-downs are long and languid sessions with the paper outside of rush hour, but you may find yourself clanging glass with other lunch break coffee-vikings at the long table through smoko and lunch. Speaking of the coffee: Amazing.

Extremely rude staff. Don’t event try to spend a second here after you’ve finished your coffee — the moment you’re done, the staff will tell you in no uncertain terms you are no longer welcome. Definitely not recommended, despite the coffee being good(for Sydney’s standards).

Nice coffee! Tucked away at the entrance to Gaffa Gallery is this cosy, airy coffee place. Friendly staff, prompt service. Tables and chairs and nibbles also if you want to escape the city streets a bit longer.

Love love love. These guys serve the best coffee this side of the CBD. The smooth, strong coffees are pumped out quick-smart and served to you through the window. Love the hole-in-the-wall feel to the place and wish I was still working in Darling Park so I could frequent this joint more often!

I decided to stop at Klink for coffee, as it was right next to Kakawa Chocolates. I am glad that I did, as I needed my morning coffee caffeine. I ordered the black coffee. It was a dark roast with a nice strong flavor. Sweetened by a spoonful of sugar, it was enough to add a light sweetness to the coffee without overpower the beans flavor. A great cup of coffee that I am glad that I stopped here.

Definitely not what it’s hyped up to be. The coffee was ok, nothing to write home about. Their coffee making practices on the other hand were horrendous. No wiping of the group handle between coffee extractions is definitely tainting the flavors My picollo was served In tall cup and resembled a ¾ latte rather than a picollo. My dbl espresso was run way way too long(80−100ml) Finally(And the reason this place gets two stars rather than a possible 3) the service left a lot to be desired. I get that hipsters love to be aloof but that sort of attitude has no place In this business

Definitely one of the best coffee places in Sydney CBD. Located inside Gaffa Gallery on Clarence St, this café serves you great coffee. Strong, but not bitter, just the way I like it.

Klink is my new go to place for coffee in the morning. The tall Barista has an automated doser on his grinder which I believe is one part of the key to his success. The staff are pleasant and efficient. The coffee is strong. The toast with tomato and avocado was delish. Thoroughly recommend this place on your way to the office!

This wee little hole in the wall(literally) is a worthwhile detour away from your regular coffee pit stop. Ok, so their awesome Golden Cobra coffees aren’t only passed through the constantly open window to patrons awaiting their brew on Clarence Street, but it’s a good way to get to know the busy baristas. Whether you choose to place your order here or at the counter inside, staff are always friendly and efficient — the New Zealandish head honcho guy always took the time to ask me how work was going, even though I’m pretty sure he had absolutely no idea what I did. There’s not a whole lot in the way of seating by the machine, but if you walk just a few metres further inside the gallery the shop resides in you can settle in at some bench seats — they run along the hallway with boutique shops either side.

I have alot of friends who swear by Kink as an awesome café, and they are totally right. The friendly artistic people behind the counter(or windowsill if that is your choice) are passionate about awesome coffee. Often you’ll hear me complain about too much milk in my coffee, but these guys are never in the wrong. Why? Because they give you the milk on the side!!! The woman who made my coffee said it best when she said«I just want to give people what they really want». Awesome. The crema here is also outstanding. Velvet, even in a dbl mac(which often loses it as you add the 2nd shot). As for their beans, the coffee they serve here I have seen nowhere else to date. The Golden Cobra sounds like something out of a Bruce Lee film. Instead, it is just a beautifully rich flavourful coffee. My only hangup about this café is that while it makes brilliant coffee, it is not the type of place I would waste away a day relaxing. This café is a must try for anyone who loves coffee.
