Really decent coffee in the Wynyard… and they have dark rye toast which must be surely one of the ways to my heart. $ 5.70 toast and coffee takeaway combo fyi. I’m not convinced by the staff service yet but hey everytime I’ve been here, I’ve left intending to come back for breakfast again so something must be going right!

Nice coffee, service ok but we waited 25 minutes for a single breakfast wrap, not acceptable.

I’ve hustled by this place on the ground floor of the Met Centre numerous times, just assuming the crowd was full of lazy people not wanting to leave the shopping centre for their coffee. I owe those people an apology. The coffee here is strong and surprisingly tasty. I enjoy that the full menu is available on Beat the Q, allowing you to order breakfast on your approach so its ready and waiting when you arrive. Perfect for early morning dashes out of the train station. I still feel slightly odd ordering food court coffee, but this stuff is pretty good. More of a 3.5 than a 3, but I’m still waiting for my half star privileges.

So I started off trying out the milkshakes — twice in a week(naughty naughty) but they were oh so good; light, frothy, ice cold and perfectly flavoured. Only now have I tried their coffees did I think I could review with justice. Awesome coffee blends, perfect amount of heat and their mocha is probably one of the best I’ve had. Still tastes like coffee with the perfect amount of Dominican chocolate blend… Mmmmmm I think I’ve found my new coffee joint! But the cherry on top is the cheery service… «Have an amazing Friday» she says… I will now after that amazing boost to my day!

Ok first I’m maybe a bit too picky. But the beans were over roasted. Yes this is the best coffee in the direct vicinity, but there is a lot better coffee in the city. Walk 5 minutes to the workshop or Pablo’s and you’ll get a lot better coffee. Saying that I didn’t get their food, so that might be great. I did have a cookie, it was different — fig and walnut. I would come here again if I couldn’t walk down a bit.

I asked my good friend Mr Twitter for coffee directions for the Wynyard area, and got directed here. I’m glad it played out that way. I am often in Sydney for work, and sometimes for fun, and usually get the train to Whynyard. After an early start for one of the firstflights from Tullamarine to Kingsford Smith, coffee is often high on my agenda, and Three Beans Café is a welcome sight. Not only is the coffee great, the staff are always on good form, including plenty of banter with regulars they obviously know well and get along with. The food looks amazon as well, although I have never eaten. Long ques possible at peak times, but that’s a great sign.

Just had coffee and lunch here before my appointment nearby. Have to say its a great little café, they have a $ 10 lunch special and it was really good. Salmon and salad on homemade rye with a skim latte. Better than the greasy meals you get over at Australia Square.

If you are a self professed coffee connoisseur then I think you will truly love not just the coffee, but also the atmosphere at Three Beans. The almost hole in the wall like space this ‘have here/take away’ coffee shop occupies, pulses with energy, and its due to the energetic, upbeat and friendly staff. In a part of Sydney were most cafes cycle their staff every 6 months, the owners must be doing something right as I have been greeted by the same few people every day for nearly two years. As well as consistently making the best coffee I have ever had in Sydney(and entertaining me with their Latino singing and banter while they do it) Three Beans has some really good Salads, so if you have a busy work day ahead you can grab a nice lunch while getting your mid morning coffee. One word of caution. They get really busy between 8.30am and 9am so be prepared to wait a good 5 minutes for your coffee, and only order toast if you can wait 10 or so minutes to get it. Having said this… well worth the queue!

Best coffee in Wynard — they definitely rock the socks off all the coffee available in the area. Really friendly staff who say hi and remember your name! How they achieve that with the thousands of people they serve everyday is proof they know their service also sets them apart. Try it for yourself. Take home whole coffee beans are also available.
