The breakfast was excellent, service was good as well. The morning was very hot and humid, perhaps look at improving AC or better ventilation, but would recommend.

Excellent place for a catch up or a romantic date. Set by the river with fantastic views. We went there to scout a wedding location and we’ve definitely decided on Eves. Unfortunately after our appointment with the wedding co-ordinator we were seated in a section that the server wasn’t aware of. However after I made a point of asking for service they were very apologetic. We did manage to finish the majority of a bottle of wine in between entrees and mains so that was a little slow: however the food was excellent and delicious. The place is perfect for a slow and languid lunch with excellent river views and a nice cool breeze. The menu was fantastic with a lot of variety in the wines and mains and their dessert menu was tempting. Absolutely going there again. Handy tip: if you’re scouting a place for your wedding they give you a $ 70 voucher to eat(which was very handy)

I felt a little under dressed when we walked through the doors at Eve’s on the River. The white tablecloths, beautiful river views and candles made me wish I’d put in some more effort instead of throwing on a dress bare faced on a balmy Summers evening. The wait staff were prompt, friendly and very warm and I quickly recovered from my paranoia. I was very excited to find gluten friendly menu items were highlighted and there was a nice array of options for me to choose from. I ordered the Confit Duck Leg w red curry sauce, lychee & jasmine rice(small serving) and my partner ordered the Market Fish w a crisp pumpkin & peanut dumpling w hot and sour dressing and heart of palm & coriander salad. Drinks flowed with conversation and we felt very looked after. The meals arrived after a thirty minute wait to much rapture — the wait staff explained the confit was a complex meal to prepare and apologised for the wait profusely, but they needn’t have bothered. The succulent flesh and amazing flavour of the duck leg completely justified the wait time. I savoured every moment of what I can only describe as «the perfect dish». Lychee was meant to be eaten with red curry sauce, and jasmine rice provides the perfect fragrant partnership. My partner was impressed with his market fish but lamented that he should have gone with the Eye Fillet — an unfortunate case of post-order remorse. We both agreed that we will definitely be coming back to this gorgeous location. Eves on the River feels so homely and comfortable but in a strong and confident way. I can’t wait to explore the menu further and enjoy more balmy evenings on the water.

Nothing spesh… We headed to Eve’s for a family birthday breaky. I was excited as I heard so many good things but alas it was not meant to be. The initial service was excellent and attentive, coffee was delicious and our little nephew received his kid’s meal when the adults received their beverages — win. After that down hill, meals took an hour to arrive, my French toast was v. dry, the other meals weren’t remarkable… Although the prices weren’t overly mind blowing, for a place with a beautiful reputation, I was left wanting…

As the name suggests, one of the draw-cards of this place is its riverside setting. In fact, it’s appealing enough that some people book it out for weddings and other functions. The service is top-notch here, with very knowledgeable and helpful waitstaff. They even have a maitre d’ — somewhat of a rarity these days. The menu varies seasonally, as with many good modern Australian restaurants, and includes a good range of meaty and fishy options for flesh eaters. It’s not just the usual steak, chicken and salmon, they also do a good lamb loin, duck breast and even venison. Often there’s only a single vegetarian main on offer, which expedites the ordering process for vegetarians. On my last visit I tried an unusual dessert — the ‘Lavender panna cotta’. At first you feel like you’re eating grandma’s body lotion but when you get into it it’s very nice. Their cheeses are fantastic as well, with vintages from as far as Tasmania, France, Italy and Spain.

I definitely think we gave the wait staff a fright ten of my girlfriends and I walked in for a meal without a booking at 9am on a Saturday morning. A bit silly, but we were in desperate need of a feed and some coffee. Slightly sleepy, and very hungover, we managed to string a sentence together to inform them that we would like a table for breakfast if there’s one available. They were prompt, though clearly a little agitated that we hadn’t made a booking, which confused me seeing as the restaurant was virtually empty. After pushing a bunch of tables together we were happily seated and ordered our coffee and breakfast. The menu was pretty standard with staples such as eggs benedict, omelette and muesli. I ordered the grilled haloumi and thought it was delicious, but some of my friends weren’t happy with their meals like the omelette that was more mushroom than egg. Oh well, you can’t please everyone but I enjoyed my meal. The coffee was good and our bill was very reasonable considering I had always considered Eve’s a high-end restaurant previously. One thing about this place is that the view over the river is stunning. It’s got a great relaxed vibe to it, which is probably why it is hugely popular for functions and weddings. It was a lovely dining experience and I’d definitely like to go back to see what they offer for lunch and dinner.
