Nestled in the Toowong Village food court and surrounded by other better known fast food options lies the unexpected Happy Noodles. Unlike the Asian buffet next to it, Happy Noodles cooks everything fresh to your order. More spicy or less spicy? Because it’s fresh, you can specify your taste preference. You’ll wait a couple minutes for the fresh preparation, but it’ll take you a lot longer to devour the huge plate of well-seasoned food that you’ll score for $ 8.50. Rather than grabbing a soda or tea from the cooler, order a freshly made mango iced tea for only $ 3.00 to satisfy your sweet tooth and curb your caffeine cravings. I’m officially a fan of the Happy Noodles and with Macca’s Free Wifi available at my table in the food court, I didn’t have to waste anytime uploading photos of my meal and writing this review! Two thumbs up from me! Last tip– get in before 12:10pm to beat the lunch rush and grab a table.

I do not often find myself lurking for food in Toowong Village but on the off chance that I do, Happy Noodles makes a pretty sensible option. For a food-court vendor, the quality of the food is pretty impressive. It is also very reasonably priced as the meals are huge. Happy Noodles doe not look that impressive upon first view; their logo and display photos look like they have not been replaced since they first opened, but like all good Chinese restaurants, what really hits you is the smell. You know, that Chinese food smell that sends your cravings through the roof. I have had a few dishes from here and they do not disappoint. A lot of people seem to order the noodle stir-fry dishes which are indeed very appetising but I particularly like the noodle soup with braised beef dish, mainly because the beef is sooooo tender and packed with flavour. The service here is always very friendly and you will never have to wait long for your meal to be cooked, even during their busier lunch period. Out of all the food options in Toowong Village(it is pretty limited), Happy Noodles is the place I would recommend to anyone.

As far as food courts go, the one in Toowong Shopping Centre does not have all that much to offer, but Happy Noodles is A-OK. I remember going to happy noodles a few years ago and falling love with their Black Bean sauce but have since returned and feel like it is sadly not the same. Maybe it is my imagination or maybe they have changed recipes, I do not know. Still, they give you a nice big serve of noodles which is always a bit too large for me to even finish. I have many a time happily shared a dish with my sister and still been quite full. They have good lunch deals and the service is pretty quick. The noodles and vegetables they use are always nice a fresh. You can also tap into the free McDonalds Wi-Fi from here. While not the best out there, for food court food Happy Noodles hits the spot.
