At the entrance to the Great Ocean Road in Torquay — Tiger Moth World is a theme park based around the magical 1930’s open-​cockpit Tiger Moth bi-​plane and a lovingly recreated grass aerodrome which contains a living museum dedicated to the aircraft.

History

Established in 1990.

Tiger Moth World is owned and operated by former airline pilot Randy Walsh and Sandra Walsh. Randy has over 45 years flying experience in the region — from grass roots aviation in vintage biplanes through to commercial jets. It has always been a passion for Randy to go back to his grass roots and operate adventure flights in vintage aircraft from his own private airfield in their home town of Torquay. It is a spectacular part of the coast and the Walshes can now share that passion with the thousands of visitors to the region.

In 1989, we designed and lovingly recreated a World War II style grass aerodrome at our own private Torquay airfield. It has been developed specifically for Tiger Moth World as an all over field for our biplane adventure flights. It abuts the beautiful Great Ocean Road foreshore reserve and all the action all happens literally metres away from the viewing area.
