Good quality food, the martabak was yum! The mains however were in such small portions, I walked out of there hungry. Mind you I’m a tiny Asian girl without a particularly a beast of an appetite. Prices were also pretty steep which is where I deducted most of my stars for. I love locally and would love to come here frequently, but unfortunately there are cheaper alternatives close by and with much more generous servings.

I showed my Indonesian Father-in-Law their Instagram page and he was drooling over their food pics! Soo — what do you do when you have married into an Indo family and they are craving authentic food? Answer — you round up the troops and head down to Harris Street, Ultimo! Just a warning — I think it’s best to take notice of the name of the Café and stick to ordering just«Martabark» Martabark is like a spongey, dense pancake served like a sandwich(top layer/filling/bottom layer) — served with various fillings —- chocolate, cheese, durian, peanuts or savoury fillings. We ordered the chocolate and peanut Martabark for my son — in Bali last year he would eat a whole one by himself, everyday! Needless to say he was in HEAVEN! This yummy treat is really something to rave on about — you must try it before you die ;) We then ordered a range of other dishes such as «Gado-Gado”* Nasi Campur Ayam * Nasi-Goreng * Martabark Telore * Satay Ayam * Durian Juice and Ice Cendol. The savoury dishes were such a huge let down. I wouldn’t recommend eating here for anything other than the Martabark. I felt sorry for my father-in-law as he was so excited about tasting authentic dishes. He had a sad face when we left. :( It’s such a shame as there is another great Indonesian restaurant literally 5mins walk around the corner(however they do not do Martabark) The restaurant décor was brand new and clean. The staff were okay too. Overall this place is really the only restaurant in Sydney(that I know of) who exclusively make Martabark on the spot! So — many props to them for that! Their Martabark is divine! #yum
