If you’re in the market for some new tableware, crockery or homeware and you live in the Caulfield/Elsternwick area, Dalgarno’s is your best bet. This store has a really good standing with the locals here and in fact, if you ask someone(who’s lived here for at least 5 years) where to get a new pot or vase, they’ll say Dalgarno’s. It’s just a great store that carries a huge range of household gear. Think cooking pots, woks, frying pans, kitchen apparatus and incidentals. You can also get a good range of crockery in a wide range of colours, shapes and sizes. I recently went in and I notice that their Christmas gear is up(it’s Nov now) and they have a delightful range of white bird inspired décor that I really love. But for now, I’m sticking to the essentils — I came to get a water jug for my sister and some mugs for myself.

I hate having to buy homewares and those«things» you need for your home but Dalgano’s is family owned and feels much more welcoming than going to a bigger chain store to get these items. They have competitive prices on all the big brands like Maxwell & Williams, S&P, Circulon and all the usuals where it was actually nice to browse casually rather than feel like you’re in a big shopping centre with a thousand stainless steel products staring you in the face. Good place to pick up gifts(that are actually useful) and they gift-wrap as well. It had a homely feeling. Like it should be. Lets face it though, it’s still homewares…
