There’s a reason why this bakery won best pie in SA!
My goodness the food is good here. Fresh baked bread is delish with butter, pies are made from quality ingredients (real chunky steak) and delicious pastry. The pizza roll is to die for. I’ve probably tried all the pies here and each are as good as the other.
Donuts, vanilla slice and beestings are also nice (my mouth is watering). Staff are so friendly and it’s family owned. Only downfall — not open on Sunday’s

As the years have slowly drifted by I have found that my tastes have changed. Once apon a time I was mad keen on the Hungers Bacon Double Cheese Burger Deluxe, at another point it was the Pizza Sub for you know where. Over the last 6 or 7 years I have completely gone off of fast food. Sure I occasionally have a burger or a sub if I need something fix and the options are scarce, but otherwise I seem to have ‘gulp’ matured! One food type that has remained a constant, and I am sure will never be out of my diet is the humble pie and sausage roll with sauce! Sometimes having just one of these can take you to your warm and fuzzy place, and all of the worries of the world fade away… or some sappy crap like that!
Walkleys Barkey is one of the good ones. Living relatively close by this is my local bakery and I often pop around for a quick fix when I am itching for a ride on the pastry train. They also have a nice selection of cakes and doughie goodness that will help your belly jiggle when you laugh or even help you along the way to a decent ‘Truffle Shuffle’!
