Newcastle Mattress Recyclers is dedicated to reducing waste by keeping mattresses and bases out of landfill sites which are filling up fast so in keeping with current legislation, Newcastle Mattress Recyclers deals with your old mattresses in the following ways:

1. We donate (after cleaning) only the best ones to people in need

2. We dismantle all others and recycle over 97% of the materials

Local Government Council’s currently charge $ 25.00 or more per mattress or base disposed off at their waste disposal depots and as a result, a large number of mattresses are being dumped illegally on road sides, in national parks and in bush land to name just a few places.

Newcastle Mattress Recyclers understands the frustrations and anger as a result of the high charge to dispose of old mattresses which is likely to result in mattresses being disposed of illegally on a continuous basis, thatis why Newcastle Mattress Recyclers commenced its service.

We aim to give a much cheaper alternative to disposing of mattresses whilst doing our part to help the environment.

History

Established in 2006.

Mattress and base components take many years to break down and as a result, council’s in encouraging a sustainable future, now either refuse to except them all together or have a separate charge for them to cover the costs they incur when recyclers such as ourselves collect them from their sites.
