Blue Water Pizza does what it says on the box pretty well. It’s a place to take the kids for Sunday Lunch. I went there last night. They cater well for kids, and do beer for dad. The gourmet pizza is great, but I do wish they would not put sour cream in the middle of most of them! It’s best done with about half a pizza per adult, and everyone shares onto their own plate. They do good crusts while you are waiting for the pizza to come. Some of those babies are pretty spicy so watch out! If you book, you can get upstairs which is quieter, as downstairs usually has kids in it, and tends to be large groups. Our bill was $ 90 for three adults/2 children.

I was pleased to discover that BWP is not just about pizza. It also does breakfast, or just a coffee and chat. The day we were there, it was pouring rain and all the outdoor areas on The Esplanade were rained out. BWP had the whole front open so it was nice to sit ‘almost outside’. We had a brunch meal(eggs etc) which was excellent. Service was really helpful and friendly. Happy to cater to some special dietary needs with no fuss.

Pretty expensive for gourmet pizza, but I enjoy the variety of toppings available. A must try on a Monday~Any pizza for less than $ 16! The view upstairs is very nice overlooking Lake MacQuarie… Service can be a little slow… but I find that seems to be common in Australia…:) I recently moved here from the US; and am learning alot about the Australian hospitality industry!
