First job repairing my garage door I was fairly happy with, although they rocked up to do it with no prior warning quite a while after I accepted their quote. Then… the garden shed. They came, inspected the site, asked what I wanted. Several (unreturned) phone calls and weeks later I received the quote. That should have told me enough but not so. I accepted the quote even though I thought it was pretty high, expecting that what I’d asked for was actually what they’d quoted on. Silly me — another mistake on my part. Three months later, yes, you read right, they came to install it, but «sorry, Stratco sent us the wrong roof». Colorbond shed, Zincalume roof, and not the shed I’d asked for in the first place. Didn’t know that until it was almost up did I? Don’t worry he said, we’ll put this roof on and replace it later, but sorry, much later — would have to be after Christmas now. No, maybe we’ll just discount this one. Right — by the exact same difference Stratco quoted. Forgot to tell me the shed I wanted for storage was going to leak like a bucket and that they were going to slug me a heap more for concrete which went down because they didn’t bother to supervise the job. Needless to say when I complained about having an in-​shed swimming pool they didn’t want to know about that either. Finally came back to check it out after another few phone calls and did some minor repairs. Sent the worker in though. Didn’t have the intestinal fortitude to come himself. Shed still leaks like a bucket so now all that’s left is for me to spread the word like the water in my shed is spreading!!!
