Danks St. Fisho

Danks St Fisho took over the butcher early this year.
The new owners jazzed up the décor quite a bit and now when you’re surrounded by slaughtered fish, it feels comfortable and fine enough to dine in.
If you want good fish and chips this is the place to go. They do a lot of combo packs but you can choose to have your grilled or battered and deep fried. If you do choose the deep fried version they batter it fresh and then fry it. So I think that goes to say this place actually uses fresh seafood not frozen.
When I tried my fish and chips I was very very happy. The fish was flaky, soft, and grilled to perfection, something I could never achieve at home. The chips are amazing, its like they use real potato, crispy on the outside but soft and fluffy on the inside. The calamari is also very tasty and nicely salted.
I hope this place stays and they continue to provide fresh food with no fishy business to the whole area! The only reason why this place gets a 4 not 5, is the worker/​owner was quite grumpy when I went. I think he could smile and be as chirpy as the quality of the product he’s selling. That would put the cherry on the cake.
