Three of us went for burgers, two of us for the first time. Burgers were great! Juicy, tasty, fresh, buns were soft and sauces were perfect. Onion rings and fries on the side were just right too. Service was very friendly and attentive. All round good experience. We will be back!

Fantastic staff, food and music. I had the chicken, maple bacon and avocado salad while at Burger Urge. This salad was absolutely Devine !! So much flavour and so filling. The staff were super friendly and enjoyed making sure that everyone was happy. Venue was very clean and well laid out. We started talking about how we taught swing dancing so for our whole meal — we had swing music playing on the shop speakers. Made our meal even more enjoyable

Back in the day I used to love Blurge(as we have always so affectionately called it), but since Grill’d has moved in down the road it’s become a little disappointing. The menu’s are looking very similar and the new décor? Well while I got a kick out of snapping plenty of pictures with my mohawked boyfriend, it just isn’t the same. The food is still divine, the lamb burgers especially. But I miss the chicken burger I used to order like clockwork. The chips are still crunchy potato gold. If Grill’d down the road is busy, then stop in at Burger Urge, you’ll basically get the same thing with the same great service and at the same price. Bring back originality!!!

Beef burgers are pretty good, but the lamb burger is really greasy and has an odd flavour. Old meat maybe? Had to wait for several minutes for service as employees were gossiping and giggling in the kitchen. Next time I’ll walk the extra 100 metres up boundary to Grill’d. They are more professional, use seasoning more adroitly and don’t use narcotic addiction as a motif. Ie. Less douchy.

When I first moved to West End, I loved Burger Urge. They had this incredible satay burger that was my go-to. My new housemate and I celebrated our West End relocation immediately after(still in «moving house» clothes, covered in sweat and dust) by ordering takeaway burgers and devouring them on the couch of our new place, grinning at each other as the burger juice oozed through our fingers. We’d repeat this process(sans filth and moving house) at least once a fortnight — usually on 2−4−1 Tuesday, or when we(regularly) got a voucher drop in the mail, and the crew behind the counter would welcome us back with grins every time. But in the last twelve months, Burger Urge completely changed. Grill’d moved in down the road and instead of Burger Urge tightening their laces and getting ready to dance, highlighting the differences between the stores… they did a 180 and became a copycat of Grill’d, giving all of their burgers silly nicknames and getting rid of some of the burgers that set them apart from Grill’d(see: my beloved satay burger), as well as undergoing a «funky» fitout(ugh). I rarely go to Burger Urge any more; I used to be a regular. I miss the good ol’ days and by gosh, I miss that satay burger. Go to Grill’d down the road instead.

Ever since Grill’d came to town my patronage at Burger Urge (Or Blurge as it’s affectionately known) has slipped substantially. It’s not that the burgers here are bad, just rather so-so. I used to get the lamb burger(lamb, fetta and beetroot) but the whole egg mayonaise just got a bit too heavy one day so I went down the road to Grill’d. Major Kudos go to their Sweet Potato chips and I applaud their consistant efforts in trying to get me in their door. (From the sneaky coupons in the mail to the intriguing and dingy new décor. …not to mention the girl waving that giant place card at the boundary intersection.) Look out for the 2 for 1 weekends and do battle with the blurge!

It’s one thing to eat a burger, it’s another to eat a tower. Burger Urge serve exactly that, a tower of a burger. Here are the positives: Huge value for money Huge burger which will make you full Great Fries with the burger Free water The portobello mushroom burger Here are the negatives: The burgers are bland The cucumbers are cut thick and lettuce is piled on which make the burger tall The onions are raw(unless you ask for caramelised) The chilli sauce tastes a bit funny The shop is small I know the last negative isn’t really a negative, but I just wanted to even them out so I could tell you that it’s 50⁄50 good and bad. It wouldn’t hurt to give your burgers(what you specialise in) a bit of seasoning… would it really be so bad? Although the burger I had was nice at best, compared to other places like Just Poppy’s and Grill’d, they really need to up their burger game. These are competitive times!

They say any publicity is good publicity and Burger Urge’s owners would hope this is true, having recently caused a little controversy with their marketing ploy involving sending out pens shaped like syringes, with accompanying copy referring to ideas of addiction. They are of course only trying to get you hooked on their burgers(not heroin), a theme followed up on with their edgy menu categories(‘Beef Injection’, ‘Lamb-phetamine’, ‘Green Out’) and décor, with the shop’s interior designed to look like a back-alley where one might go for a ‘fix’. The hype aside, it’s all about the burgers at the end of the day, and theirs are good, if not great. As a spice lover, I tried ‘The Red Hot Chilli Pepper’, thinking with all their tough talk, they may do a genuinely hot chilli sauce. The results weren’t as impressive as I hoped, with the spice levels being commonly middle-of-the-road. In their defence, the portions are pretty epic and I like their sweet potato fries for a change-up from the norm. The prices are pretty standard for a gourmet burger joint($ 10 +) and on occasions I’ve seen a guy out front with a microphone on a weekend spruiking a 2-for-1 special.
